Furd Posted June 2, 2012 Share Posted June 2, 2012 This is a good whiskey. I was looking for a lighter bourbon for the summer, maybe something for mixing, and this was recommended to me. Its much lighter than the 101, but it has plenty of spice, vanilla and oak. I don't think that you can beat it at $19 for 750 ml. They released it last year to replace the 80. For you or other bourbon aficionados, its probably going to be too lightweight. I knew it replaced the old WT 80. I'd forgotten that WT 80 was "regular WT". Regardless, I do think it's significantly better than the old stuff. You are correct that technically Jack meets the qualifications of a bourbon but its marketed as a whisky . Perhaps that standard has been loosened, but Jack does the right thing.
