Tom Coughlin

As a New Englander I wish he'd never left B.C.

The New York Giants visited the White House Friday, June 8, as President Barack Obama honored the Super Bowl XLVI champions. Head coach Tom Coughlin thanked the men and women in the military and said that Congress might benefit by learning a thing or two from the Giants. "Offense, defense and special teams doing their jobs, each group having different objectives and motives but playing in harmony for each other, for the good of everyone," Coughlin said. "Wouldn't it be nice if Congress operated the same way?"

Coughlin is a great coach in a very difficult division. He seems to usually be able to keep the Giants winning even when the chips are down. You can never count his teams out. Coughlin is a great motivator and adjusts very well to adversity. I dare say he is the difference between the Giants being average and the Giants being super bowl winners.

I'd say that might be the difference for Eli.

I've just found it weird that the Giants always have that "playing in December desperation mode" from mid-September on, with all the positive and negative trappings of it. It's a vibe I cannot describe any other way, but it's clearly working. But BOY do they throw a stinker up once a year.

When it counts, and you see Giants in your schedule, be afraid.

They aren't going to win every game gracefully or by a big margin, but watchout when they have their back to the walls. I think that's what i love about them. I enjoy seeing them struggle then go balls to the wall on the opponent. They did it twice already and it was fun to watch as a fan.

Last two SB wins, I had pretty much given up on them well before the playoffs started, especially last season. Still feels surreal that they played so crappy in the regular season and then won it all.
