I am in a 12 team 5 keeper league...we have to keep 5 players no matter what...

I finished 4th last year....so will have pick 9 in a NFl style draft

scoring is a bit customized

QBs...6pt tds, 1 pt/50 yards passing, 5 pt bonus at 250,
RBs...6 pt tds...2 pts/ 25 rushing...5 pt bonus at 100...1 pt/25 yards rec...5 pt bonus at 50 yards rec
WRs...6 pt tds...1 PPR...1pt/25 receiving...5 pt bonus at 100...1 pt 25 yrds rushing...5 pt bonus at 50 rushing
TEs...6 pt tds...1 PPR...1 pt/ 25 yards rec...5 pt bonus at 50

notice RBs do not get PPR but do get 1 extra pt for 25 yards rushing...TEs score very high in this league

We start...1 QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 flex at RB or WR, 1 TE, k, Def

I got 3 or 4 sure things so it basically boils down to my 5th keeper

sure things

Aaron Rodgers
Larry Fitzgerald
Jimmy Graham

other choices

Steven Jackson
Mike Wallace
Vincent Jackson
Beanie Wells
Kenny Britt
Legarette Blount
Ryan Williams
Torrey Smith

I am leaning towards Steven Jackson and Mike Wallace at 4 and 5....but really like Vjax over Sjax and not even keep a RB...and grab 2 or 3 RBs with first 3 picks...

thoughts?

Mike Wallace for sure. Britt has a lot of upside IMO. Torrey Smith may have a good year.

With 60 players kept, just who do you think you could get with your early picks at RB that even has a decently remote shot off being a legit startable RB?
Even with keeping just one RB, you're still having to go after a RB relatively early to fill the RB2 spot with a less than reliable option, (but still have flexibility to go WR for the flex spot if one is there for you). With no PPR for RBs, you lose out on a lot of possible options (i.e Bush and Sproles) as they have very limited value/potential.

I'd keep Wallace and SJackson.

VJax is intriguing, but new team, etc. could lead to an adjustment period, while Wallace has plenty of rapport with Ben and can be considered a fairly reliable lock for a top 10ish WR.

Yeah I would have to go with Sjackson and wallace.

I wouldn't draft Vjax over either of them and I am sure most people wouldn't also.

Not sure if you are allowed, but maybe you can trade Vjax for a pick of some sort?  Or package Vjax and Sjackson to a team who doesn't have a lot of keeprs for an upgrade at rb?

wallace should be in your "sure things" list.

i think your 5th keeper is a lot easier than you are making it.
Vjax = didnt play hard when he was trying to get paid, now he has his money, why would he start to play hard now??
Beanie = not reliable, ryan williams is back to challenge sometime this season
Britt = not back to 100% yet so why keep a guy with a huge questionmark
Torrey = you dont keep a guy based on what MIGHT happen when you have better options
R Williams and Blount = why did you even list these 2 as possibilities?

Steven Jackson = starter, reliable, still has at least 1 more good year in him before Pead starts to cut into his workload

You should keep Wallace and Sjax......then rest easy cuz that is a great foundation of 5 to start this year with

I'd keep Wallace and SJax.  The lack of available RBs when the draft starts is going to force you to keep at least one
