FF Toolbox "Experts" Mock Draft

interesting. I'm in a live draft as we speak and I got Fitz at 2.1 while I was fortunate to have McFadden fall to me at 1.12

I'm going to let others spend an early pick on a TE this year. There is great value in the 5th/6th/7th rounds.

A.Bradshaw will be a steal this year with his current ADP, especially in PPR leagues. With no TE to speak of, I think Eli is poised to look to his RB's more than ever this year. Love the Bush pick as well.

What are the scoring rules? I am trying to gauge the draft correctly. Standard scoring, PPR, or a unique scoring rules? Thank you.

One of the comments said this was PPR scoring.

According to the league page scoring rules, its 1 PPR for all positions with standard scoring for everything else.

There is no flex but you can start 2-3 RB's or 3-4 WR's.

John,

If Rodgers would have been available @ 8 would you have taken him instead of Fitz?

Good question. Probably. I'd rather wait on a QB but if Fitz went at 7 there wasn't another WR who really excited me at that spot. The 7/8 area feels kind of stinkhole-ish this year, though I'm not entirely disappointed with Fitz there. Maybe the stinkhole is at 9.

Agreed that there is value at TE. Didn't have a strong feeling with that second pick, ended up thinking on it too long (I came on the clock the night before, mulled it, then forgot about it the next morning) and ADP gave me Gronk. Andre Johnson would have been another option. Also was thinking about Sproles, but as Savage notes it just feels too early there. Was hoping Doug Martin would fall a couple more spots but Bradshaw/Bush isn't a bad tandem in this system. And just missed on McGahee as my RB3. Still a couple options on the board.

Sproles at 2.12??? I don't care if it is PPR, that is a serious reach that early.

Even with the NO issues this year is that a legitimate reach? He filled the role that everyone thought Reggie Bush was supposed to fill over the last 2 seasons but with bona fide results. I realize everyone relies on the previous years stats for subsequent performance metrics, but looking at my PPR BOTH league last year he was #2 and #5 in performance amongst RBs in total and average PPG, respectively. Sproles may not catch 86 passes and 7 receiving TDs this next year, but assuming Brees comes back, 60-70 catches, 1,000 total yards and a half dozen totals TDs is a pretty decent forecast? Barring injury (and Brees contract situation) Sproles is a pretty safe bet for a top 10 RB with upside to repeat last year. Having Arian Foster, Sproles, and Brees is a pretty good way to start your draft.

Isn't that the definition of flex? A 3rd RB or 4th WR?

Seems to be the only thing consistent from year to year. The middle of the 1st round is soft 7 though 9. I think the only benefit to 10 and 11 is that you pick again right away. But those slots look even uglier in 16 team leagues

Sure it is but there is no true "flex" position per say.

My point with Sproles is that there are times in a draft when its fine to reach for someone you like... but if you do it in the 2nd round you are screwing your team. Sproles is a 4th rounder at best IMO. There is just way too much alternative talent on the board that you have to pass up to take him that early.

Agree with Bushwacked here. Sproles at the end of the 2nd round is a great pick, IMO. NO realized that if you get the guy in the game and put the ball in his hands, good things happen. Funny that SD keeps providing NO with what it considers disposable pieces, and NO turn those guys into top notch players who significantly outperform the guys SD decided to hang onto. I don't see how NO reduces his opportunities this coming season. I see Sproles as a top 8 RB in a ppr league this season.

Note - full disclosure: I do have some bias with as a Sproles owner in ATAP

On the surface, it looks to me like FFF.com and Mugs are kicking some serious arse. Huddle is soild but safe - which usually gets you to the playoffs and then an early exit. Not liking the Fsharks, draftcalc, and cbs drafts so far at all.

WHEN IT SAYS FREAKEN FLEX!!!! Good god drop it already...ok so its a FLEX....it doesn't list FLEX in the positions. Good lord almighty@!!

Umm.... do you know HOW MFL works? There is no such thing as a flex position, you set up a range of allowable starters by position.

You should go back to drinking, a lot more fun to mess with then. (j/k, don't do that)

Sproles was the 9TH best RB last year in standard scoring and should be worth that at least. Sproles had 681 yrds receiving through Week 16 good enough for 2ND place behind Rice. Picking Sproles at 2.12 is a steal. He probably rank in the top 5 last year with PPR. Gret Pick.

Thank you for the rule and scoring. I would be favoring a more pass orientated offense.

Interesting pick in Isaac Redman at 7.8 when J.Best was still there.

not to me. Best may have a couple/ handful of good games then miss 10 or 12. Redman will see 15+ touches for the majority of the year

I like Ike!
