delusions of grandeur Posted July 16, 2012 Share Posted July 16, 2012 (edited) Wow, no wonder the Ravens and the Pats are perennially good, when they get guys like Gronk and Rice to take less than they could command elsewhere to get it done now. Unless more than $18 million of this is guaranteed, then it's pretty hard to believe that the Ravens got out even a little cheaper on Rice than Forte from the cheap Bears, when he can do everything that Forte can and more, can run between the tackles at the goal-line and is durable. But I was never very worried about a Rice holdout. From listening to him talk about the situation (along with all of the other ways he's shown to be an upstanding player), he's one of the last ones I'd expect to hold out over a franchise tag. I guess the "AP-type deal" and "far apart" reports were just a bunch of smoke-blowing as usual.
