delfamdelfam
With his past history you have to believe he gets a couple games suspension.
Scooby's Hubby
Geez, too many players getting in trouble. Dez Bryant also got arrested for some type of battery of a family member this weekend. What the hell are these players thinking????
White lightning
Assuming the charges stick, the Huddle is speculating that Lynch will recieve a 4-6 game suspension based on his disciplinary history. The pool of quality running backs just got a little shallower
Scooby's Hubby
What is Goodell's timetable on suspension rulings?
Scorcher
About a month and a half ago somebody posted that Robert Turbin was going to be a great back. Looks like we might find out sooner than later.
Kris N
first dez, now lynch. my dynasty squad just took a blow for the first few weeks of the season.... i really think it will be too early for turbin to take the reigns. washington will be the man for the first few weeks this year. at least i'm hoping turbin doesnt start cuz if he catches fire then he might steal touches from lynch when he can finally play. i'm hoping the drop in touches is at least a year away.....#wishfulthinking
Jolly Rodgers
What is Goodell's timetable on suspension rulings? Eric Wright got arrested for DUI a couple weeks ago but the charges were dropped. So, don't count on anything until the courts call him guilty.
tazinib1
Eric Wright got arrested for DUI a couple weeks ago but the charges were dropped. So, don't count on anything until the courts call him guilty. Well its being reported that he was weaving in and out of traffic and struck 2 parked cars before being pulled over and failing a FST. Not looking good.
Seahawks21
Goodell cares none what the courts think. This is Marshawn's 3rd incident. He's got a hit-and-run and a gun charge previously. I'm thinking 5-6 games as well, as harsh as that sounds for a DUI. The Seahawks season is over. Turbin will get every opportunity to tote the rock while he's gone. Carroll has never liked giving touches to Leon Washington. Please let it be a two game suspension!!

Precisely, I don't where people get this idea that they need to be found guilty in court before they are punished by the NFL. Goodell has shown that doesn't matter much to him. Repeat offenders of any kind are punished. Look at Roethlisberger, he was not found guilty of anything and he was still punished.
White lightning
He also submitted to a "chemical test", which should mean that they will test for THC and ethanol. Not good indeed!
Kris N
charges formally filed for DUI. not looking good for my dynasty team or the seahawks...... though i heard a rumor that he blew a .08, which is the legal limit. so i'll hold out a shred of hope that this ends up getting dropped and lynch only gets 2 or 3 games. one in a million, so you're saying there's a chance!! theeohiostate
i think the chances this lingers into the season is very possible , seems his lawyer will contest the 2 conflicting results, one of which he blew the legal limit , this won't be over soon , if guilty maybe 2 games imposed around week
3rd and schlong
This has a 4 game suspension written all over it.
stevegrab
Anybody see this in Huddle Player News yesterday Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch's DUI arrest could prove to be costly as a suspension for conduct detrimental or substance abuse defaults his four-year, $31 million contract and voids his guaranteed money, according to a league executive. Huddle Up: Ouch!!! Lynch just signed for Matt Forte-type money in March, but this latest arrest could flush it down the toilet. Sounds like this could really hurt him financially even without any suspension and lost game checks.

"So you're saying there's a chance!" There were two breathalyzer tests and one was .08??? The issue is when he took the .08 test. If he took it within 30 min to 1 hour after he was pulled over his attorney can argue that his BAC was stilll rising at the time of test and was actually below the legal limit when he was pulled over. The attorney can also poke holes in the standard deviation of the test and whether it has recently been calibrated. Now, if he blew a .08 2-3 hours after he was pulled over the prosecution will argue that he was actually in the "elimination" phase (you burn about 1 drink an hour) and his BAC was actually higher then .08 at the time he was pulled over. This should be interesting. Edited July 19, 2012 by White lightning

This should be interesting. I just saw this on ESPN. "The second test, given some 40 minutes later, registered a higher .10 blood-alcohol content on Lynch." This really helps Lynch's argument that his BAC was below .08 at the time he was pulled over and continued to increase over time.
Bronco Billy
If Lynch is weaving all over the road at 0.08 he needs a lot more drinking practice. Noobs

Scooby's Hubby
Maybe you can get him later, b/c of this and just handcuff him in hopes that Goodell doesn't suspend for long.
White lightning
One thing though. I'm sure he was also charged with reckless driving. So even if he beats the DUI (Class A misd in Illinois) the Judge can still find him guilty of reckless driving (also a Class A misd) for speeding/almost hitting several cars/driving with a significant amount of alcohol in his system, and that will be more then enough for Godell to suspend him based on his prior history. flemingd
One thing though. I'm sure he was also charged with reckless driving. You are not correct. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8177533/marshawn-lynch-seattle-seahawks-officially-charged-dui and that will be more then enough for Godell to suspend him based on his prior history. Goodell doesn't care one iota what the charges are, the sentence is, what the courts or jury say, or anything else. He will do what he thinks is appropriate based on what's known, not what's locked up in legal process Edited July 19, 2012 by flemingd
