delfamdelfam
what goal-line carries did Forte have last year?
irish
as a Forte owner, not liking what i'm seeing Bush is going to take all the goal line carries and TD hawk his points this season Come back off the ledge... It's just preseason and Forte is a machine in the passing game as well as scoring TDs from beyond the GL.
Bronco Billy
As a Forte owner, you ought to know that goalline work is not where he gets his value.
Tripleshot
I saw the box score and just knew someonew would make this post. I'll still draft Forte in the late first round and not think twice about it. Edited August 20, 2012 by Tripleshot
theeohiostate
I Guess i'm not the only one with this view Rotoworld "Bush will be a threat to Forte's scoring potential in 2012.

i_am_the_swammi
You remember what a washed-up Marion Barber did to Forte's TD total last year? Now imagine that for the entire season....think about this: Barber had 6 rushing TDs last year; Forte had 3. The Bears have already proven they'll use someone other than Forte to do the heavy lifting from the goal line. This year, its Bush. And it shouldn't surprise anyone. So he only has "one" TD to lose from last year's numbers. There's no goal-line carries to poach. Through 10 games last year (when Cutler got hurt) Forte was averaging 17.1 points, 6th best RB, and this in my homer that allows no PPR for RB's. All that while getting just three rushing TD's. This shouldn't change your projections for Forte unless they were unrealistic in the first place. In his 4 years with the Bears he has 3, 6, 4, and 8 TD's, so there's no reason to expect this to change.
Bronco Billy
I Guess i'm not the only one with this view Rotoworld "Bush will be a threat to Forte's scoring potential in 2012. Rotoworld's reporting of events is outstanding, but their opinions have really slid in the past 3 to 4 months. A lot of reaching speculation with no support, and some opinions in direct contrast to what happened on the field. I see Bush as having no negative impact on Forte compared to previous seasons, and may actually help him by keeping him fresher throughout the season, since Bush appears to be much more competent as a RB2 than what Forte has had in the past. 3 to 5 fewer carries a game may actually increase Forte's yardage production.
Pope Flick
Yeah, I'd say Forte is probably pretty safe to predict this year, he's mainly all yards and always has been.
bdom11
Especially if you're in a ppr league, forte is a safe late 1st round pick
BA Baracus
Forte is still solid. I've owned him many times and the only time he scores TD's is when he busts off long ones. Bush is not threat to Forte's fantasy prospects. The only reason that I didn't take Forte this year was because McFadden was still available... In his 4 years with the Bears he has 3, 6, 4, and 8 TD's, so there's no reason to expect this to change. Agreed on the TD total, but I disagree on the projections for yardage. Bush has proven he is an exceptionally capable RB...perhaps the best second-fiddle Forte has had while with the Bears. The Bears saw last year exactly what happens when you lean too heavily on one RB....they break down. Flukes catch up with you when you handle the ball exponentially more than other RBs. I somehow think the Bears get the ball into Bush's hands more this year than any other change-of-pace RB Forte's ever had to deal with. Not as bad as Jammal Charles losing carries to Thomas Jones....but I wouldn't expect the split to be 90/10, either.
3rd and schlong
I have Forte as the 6th RB this year. I think that's a fair place for him. Very consistant player - his value was never in TD's. They didn't give him that huge contract to not run him.
piratesownninjas
Yep, Forte's value isn't tied to TD's. It's his total yardage and crazy high amount of receptions. TD's are a bonus with him.
Ice1
as a Forte owner, not liking what i'm seeing Bush is going to take all the goal line carries and TD hawk his points this season You should be more worried about the yards he takes between the 20's. Forte is obviously very good but Bush is a big upgrade and should see considerably more time than your typical RB red zone back. I expect more RBBC to not only keep Forte fresh but keep him healthy. MrTed46
Marshall + Bush together will hurt Forte's numbers...how much is to be determined. RBs are scarse too, which makes him a safe #1 pick because not much out there in that position.

You can't discount Forte too much, mostly because the guys he's going to be ranked around all have major questions. Dudes coming off knee surgeries less than a year ago. MJD holding out. Mathews already hurt. Murray lacking a proven track record. Sproles was great but still plays on a team with 3-4 backs that all get PT. So, not getting TDs he never got and, perhaps losing a few touches between the 20s that he used to get, still puts him towards the front of that pack. But, IMO, it does put him squarely behind the top of the heap.
