LbNiners
anyone seen much of him in these pre-season games to think he can over take Wells for the starting spot? As college RB, he was better than Wells IMO and he seems more so now in the pros as well. Thoughts?
Joose
I think he is probably the biggest sleeper at the running back position this season, and with Arizona's QB play not being so good, I expect them to run the ball a lot so there is probably good value in Wells and Williams. DMD
He went two rounds before Wells in my draft yesterday. He's getting very popular.

LbNiners
It is always too early to draft an AZ RB. Â I took him in the 13th rd, not to much of a gamble, only other RB after him that I thougth might have been better was Daniel Thomas. PPIchamp
Scored him in the 24th of 29 rounds of a 10 team/2QB/6IDP. The league was terrible in securing worthy handcuffs.

It's sort of a joke. Obviously, at some point, they're worth picking and it's not like you're going to find anything better in the 13th. loaf
He's my 5th RB. I drafted him 113th overall. 10 teams, modified ppr
lennykravitz2004
Picked Williams in a 10 team re-draft, non-ppr @ #138 (14.08) before selecting a K and a HC with my last two picks. Â Which, of course since I tried to be "sneaky smart", means "this is Beanie's year".
detlef
I actually almost took Wells at pick 132 but just couldn't do it and grabbed a few more WRs.
Shorttynaz
A lot of good things being talked about locally about Williams. He's really not much of a sleeper anymore. Projected to be 60/40 split with Wells (Beanie getting more right now), but one of the strengths of the Cardinals is their interior line. They've got 2 stud guards (if you want to call an OG a stud) and a solid center. Problem is both tackles are beyond weak. Williams has been running inside VERY well, and will probably be the starter IMO no later than week 5 or 6 - but it's not gonna matter as neither tackle can pass protect and whoever is the unfortunate one to win the QB job is gonna have NO time to get rid of the ball. Â The good thing about Williams is he's the only Cardinal I will touch this year in my drafts, but I certainly won't be reaching for him as all defenses are gonna have to do is stack the box and the Cardinals offense will be non-existant.. Â Â I'm pretty sure this is why they have installed a ton of 4WR sets. And I'm certain both RB's will be seeing a ton of snaps together to help negate the poor interior line. ffgreg
I took Williams #128 overall.. There is definitely potential there.
lennykravitz2004
If the many of the HC's mantra for the final preseason game, is "rest starters"... should anything be read into Williams not getting on the field last night? (Technically, I don't know if he had any snaps and just no carries, or if he even got on the field, or was even dressed.)
stevegrab
If the many of the HC's mantra for the final preseason game, is "rest starters"... should anything be read into Williams not getting on the field last night? (Technically, I don't know if he had any snaps and just no carries, or if he even got on the field, or was even dressed.) Â Â Would depend on what other RB saw action in the game, the status of other RB (are any injured already and getting rest). Â For comparison the Browns only had a few expected offensive starters taking snapsin their final pre-season game yesterday. Richardson will probably be ready to play some downs in the opener, but primary backup Montario Hardesty didn't see any action. Hardesty will start and I expect him to get 60-70% of the carries. Over the first 3-4 weeks that will move to a 50-50 split until Richardson can handle the load (including blocking). Â So if AZ didn't use Williams, but did use Wells, then maybe Williams starts and carries the most. If neither played its hard to read anything into it. Â I'm kind of avoiding the AZ running game, unless somebody falls to me. Between it being pretty bad/unpredictable I have Fitz and don't generally have RB/WR on the same team. Capt. Stanky
I'm pretty sure Wells (7 Car for 35 yds) played just to get some reps. I believe it was just his second action of the pre-season, coming off off-season knee surgery. I think Beanie is still the starter, for now... ThatDude
Interesting as I was going to post something about Ryan Williams this morning as it relates to his playing time or lack of playing time last night. I could only hope it means he's the starter but my guess is it's Wells job to lose for now

Bronco Billy
Loved drafting with guys like det and picking him up as my R-B4 in the 14th round in my office league. Lot of backs picked before him with a lot less opportunity
