bostonsoxandy
Since taking over in 2007, the Cardinals have drafted the following with their first round picks: Levi Brown Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie Beanie Wells Dan Williams Patrick Peterson Michael Floyd Brown is currently on the IR and was released then re-signed for less in March. DRC is currently on the Eagles and they got nothing for him basically. Beanie Wells has been unimpressive and a no positive impact player so far. Dan Williams has 0 sacks in his first 2 years, and has only 58 tackles over those 2 years. Peterson is a glorified, albeit talented, kick returner but the jury is still out on him as a cornerback. They have not spent a first rounder on a QB since Leinart while they have taken the most talented and most consistent WR in the NFL and squandered his ability while he was in his prime. They have had the opportunity to take the following QBs but have passed on all of these guys: Jake Locker Christian Ponder Andy Dalton Colin Kaepernick Ryan Mallet Brandon Weeden Russell Wilson Nick Foles Joe Flacco Matt Flynn Among others those are the more notable. All of these guys they could've gotten at some point in their draft without even moving up, and all these guys would be better than Kolb. The fact that they haven't figured out the QB situation in 5 years means something has to change. After this unsuccessful campaign this year, I am positive Whisenhunt's time is over in Arizona. Scorcher
Maybe they will just make him step down and play QB.
baddfish2
The Cardinals may in fact be holding on to Ken as a courtesy while property values around Phoenix are rising, that way there's less chance that Ken will have to short sell his house in order to move. At the current rate of property values increasing in Arizona, combined with the direction the Cardinals appear to be headed, I would estimate we'll have a top 5 draft position next year and Ken will be able to sell his house without taking a loss! Zooty
Is Whiz the GM?
Shorttynaz
Is Whiz the GM? Finally someone said it. Sure Whiz has input on who to draft, but Rod Graves is the one pulling the trigger on all these bad moves. NEVER understood how this guy got the job, nor do I understand how he still has it.. Unfortunately for Whiz, he was the one who was pushing for the trade to get Kolb. I remember last year after the lockout - all the praise Whiz gave the guy talking about he has what it takes and he really likes what he saw of him in Philly. I guess he liked what he saw so much, he traded DRC and a 2nd round pick for a backup QB to fill the role of... ... backup QB. Grits and Shins
Kind hard of to hold the HC responsible for the decisions of the GM and owner ...
Joose
We all have seen what Whiz can do as a head coach when he actually has a quarterback, hoping he doesn't lose his job, but if he does I'm sure he will find a coaching job elsewhere in no time. Couldn't pretty much every team have drafted those qb's?
Chavez
Cards' 5 yrs under Whiz - .500, 2 winning seasons (1 losing season at 5-11), 4-2 playoff record, 1 SB appearance Cards' for previous 30 yrs - 4 winning seasons (18 10-loss seasons), 1-2 in playoffs. Yo, Cardinals management, these ARE your salad days.
bostonsoxandy
Couldn't pretty much every team have drafted those qb's? Yes but EVERY team has a better QB situation than Arizona and NONE of those teams (w/ exception of Detroit) have a WR as much as a stud as Fitz. No team needed to take a chance on drafting QBs over the past few years as much as Arizona and they haven't invested much at all in the draft on QBs. Square
I'd fire the AZ gm but I don't think you can drop Wiz first or blame it all on him. We don't know if they went against his "input". I'd also probably fire the Jets GM.
