Marshawn lynch

I don't think the possible suspension is going to be an issue this year. But, he may have others issues?

This from PFT-

Marshawn Lynch (back spasms) has not practiced in more than a week.

Lynch was getting treatment on his back during Monday's practice. Seahawks beat writers have suggested that his absence has been geared toward resting up with the season opener in mind. Lynch will not play in Thursday's season finale. If you plan to draft Lynch in the second round, be sure to back him up with impressive rookie Robert Turbin as a "handcuff."

For those saying "he won't be suspended this year" what are you basing that on? Is it simply the fact that the his legal case is dragging out. Combined with a belief (based on precedent) that the NFL will not suspend a player for something that is still going through the legal process?

What if this case is resolved during the season, even if he is innocent/not-guilty, the NFL could still suspend him.

Another player that people are watching (as fans of IDP) is Joe Haden, who was expected to be suspended for 4 games to start the season, But with the start of the season being one week away there is still no announcement. That backs BB's point about the NFL being very slow to suspend or clarify that players are not suspended.

Add Britt to that list.

a RB with back problems before the season starts? I'm staying clear on Lynch but picking up Turbin for sure

I declared him as my keeper a week ago before I realized how serious this may actually be - Could have kept Fred Jackson instead

It's not the suspension that you need to worry about, it is the back spasms. Being that he is on a west coast team, their home games (4pm) are a concern, because he could be a late scratch and leave you hanging without another RB; and with back spasms, coaches won't know until the last minute during warm ups if the spasms make him unplayable. That is what scares me about Lynch.

I've heard others say that because the arrest is not considered under the substance abuse clause of the NFLPA,then Goodell will wait till the criminal case is over to dole out punishment. And considering his DUI arrest deals with a blow of .08, I expect a lot of discovery/issues over expert testimony before the case goes to trial.

The Seahawks don't appear to be overly concerned with the back spasms, yet. I thought Goodell wasn't going to wait for the judicial process, and would give out his punishment rather quickly. Could Roger possibly wait until the last quarter of the season when teams are making playoff pushes to impose his suspensions? That would just be dirty.

I thought we beat this to death in a previous thread.

Well we can't just talk about JStew non-stop, there are other RB situations that are important ;)

My point earlier regarding suspensions was that Goodell does not have to wait, nor does he need a guilty verdict to suspend a player. Apparently they are waiting, and I agree it would suck if it get's resolved, then Goodell suspends a key player for the playoff run. But I don't think it is dirty, and it is at least partially on the players for

A) getting into trouble with the law in the first place

B) dragging out their criminal trials for months so that it doesn't "interfere with their jobs"

I have a feeling that in time more teams will do something similar to what DAL is doing with Dez. It may be the only way to keep some of these knuckleheads from self destructing.

Looks like the back spasms are back. It's only Tuesday but losing this guy from the week 1 lineup would be suboptimal.

From ESPN:

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has experienced back spasms and the team is uncertain whether he'll be able to play Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, a team source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
