rai
12 team, 1 ppr and plus yardage performance 4 points for TD throw points, 6pts for all other, TE required and start 4 players 1-3 RB and 1-3 WR (4 total WR/RB) With the top 5QBs going in the first/second round, I have kind of thought after the big5 QBs that the next 5 or so are similar (romo, ryan, peyton, Eli, .vick) then the next several are not so much worse. I have taken the strategy to wait until 10+ QBs are gone and picked up 2-3 of whos left. This means taking guys like Flacco, Big Ben, Luck, RG3, Wilson, Cutler, Fitzpatrick (maybe Eli or Peyton makes in down here) Some collection of 2 or 3 of these QBs this leave you to take the best RB/WR maybe a top5 TE in the first 6-7 rounds. SEC=UGA
It can work very well once the top 3 to 5 QB's are gone
rajncajn
Discussed a bit here I often do the same although I did take Brees early this year in another draft.
JC_wizardry17
i planned BIGTIME on doing this until brady fell to me at 9. I like the challenge of playing the matchup between 2 or even 3 qbs every week. Edited September 7, 2012 by JC_wizardry17

CowboysDiehard
It's risky from the standpoint that you cannot predict what the other owners will do. I've tried this, and been burned when a second run on Tier2-3 begins, by owners who already have their QB1s. In two leagues this year, I faced this situation and ended up with Big Ben both times. In one league my backups are Ponder and Cassel, and in the other it's Russell Wilson. At least I'm not in a situation where I have to overthink every week, I plan to plug and play Big Ben. Last year was worse, in one league I tried this and finished the year with Sanchez / Palmer / Cassel. That was a total mess, I never knew who to start. In that league, starting round 8, a couple guys noticed I had no QB and intentionally removed the last viable options from the board. One was, of course, Big Ben. For me, when I play this strategy, he's kinda like the last barfly left before closing time...
Hugh 0ne
Got Romo in the 6th round of a 12-team draft. I always wait until at least the 5th or 6th round, then grab 2 upside QB's, play the matchups and hope one of them has a stellar year. slainte
waited a bit too long and wound up with big ben in the ninth round. but the more i think about it, i think he represents great value this year. especially if he throws the ball as much as he's expected to. i think he may wind up surprising. Balzac
I end up doing this every season and just make sure to draft at least 2 QBs who are, IMO, poised to make a leap into the next tier. Usually works out great.
Blue
I wouldn't wait any longer than round 9. Probably would be best to take a QB at round 8 to be safe.
