westvirginia
Luxx Why not add that third x and fulfill her destiny? That's what you want, right? You want little Luxx to grow up, move to the Valley and earn $60 a week getting jet spraykakke'd for a series of Brazzers short films, yes? There's no other reason to name your child Luxx. Furd
Have you heard the one about Temptress? Then there is the recent case of Temptress, a fifteen-year-old girl whose misdeeds landed her in Albany County Family Court in New York. The judge, W. Dennis Duggan, had long taken note of the strange names borne by some offenders. One teenage boy, Amcher, had been named for the first thing his parents saw upon reaching the hospital: the sign for Albany Medical Center Hospital Emergency Room. But Duggan considered Temptress the most outrageous name he had come across. "I sent her out of the courtroom so I could talk to her mother about why she named her daughter Temptress," the judge later re- called. "She said she was watching The Cosby Show and liked the young actress. I told her the actresss name was actually Tempestt Bled- soe. She said she found that out later, that they had misspelled the name. I asked her if she knew what temptress meant, and she said she also found that out at some later point. Her daughter was charged with ungovernable behavior, which included bringing men into the home while the mother was at work. I asked the mother if she had ever thought the daughter was living out her name. Most all of this went completely over her head."
stevegrab
Have you heard the one about Temptress? That is too funny, and sadly must be true based on the many spellings of names like Duane (Dewayne, DeWayne, etc.) Whatever happend to Bob, Pete and Joe? Mary, Lisa and Sally. They've all got to be special today, so they can stand out. PS Lexus, Porsche, Mercedes, etc. Most of them are end up as porn stars.

muck
Two stories: * A friend and his wife had a son and named him Miles. A couple of years later, they had another son and named him Davis. When I found out, I asked them if they were big jazz fans. They both had this horrified look on their face as if the thought had never occurred to either of them. * A friend told me the following story --- a friend of his was on a medical residency in Atlanta at an inner city clinic, and was on hour 47 of a 48hr shift when a lady delivered a bouncing baby boy. She asked him what she should name her new son. He, in a daze and with an enormous amount of sarcasm suggested, "The Greek God of Masculinity --- Testicles." [pronounced "Test-uh-cleeze"]. She liked it and used it. So, somewhere in or around Atlanta is a 20yr old man named Testicles. I'm not sure, but I think his last name is Johnson. I kid you not... ebartender
My wife works with special needs children, mostly in low income areas. Once of the kids she worked with was named la-a (pronounced: la dash a). I wish I was joking. CaP'N GRuNGe
My wife's aunt & uncle named each child with a name that starts with the same letter as the last letter of the previous child's name. Jacob Barrett Taylor Reed Deandra and lastly Alex with the X at the end to signify they were done. I guess they could have had a Xavier or something. I worked with a guy whose mom wanted her kids to have 5 letters in their name - so he was named "Jeffe"; one night alcohol loosened my tongue enough for me to say "so, LOLLIPOP dude, your mom never saw it spelled 'Geoff'?" SEC=UGA
I may have mentioned this before... While sitting in class my senior year of HS one of the administrators came over the intercom to tell a kid his mom was there to pick him up. He evidently was a freshman or sophomore as none of us had heard the name before nor had we mercilessly hazed the kid... yet... I'll never forget the look on my buddy's face when Mr. Williams said... "Peter Whacker, please come to the office, your mom is here to pick you up..."

Bring Back Pat!!!
I went to high school with a girl named Stormy. She got a decent amount of grief, but explained it away as having hippie parents. But she brought the real grief on herself as an adult when I found out she married a guy with the last name Knight. Stormy Knight.

I managed to NOT ask her if she intended for them to become strippers. I was using the term porn star losely, to include all those in the industry whether truly stars or not. But if you name them Lexus, Raven or Luxxxx to start with you've started them off on a path to some sort of sexual related profession. Your friend with the daughters is a prime example. delusions of grandeur
I may have mentioned this before... "Peter Whacker, please come to the office, your mom is here to pick you up..." Had the same thing happen on the very first day of middle school. Over the intercom, they announced for "Shamelle Butts" during an assembly, and the whole school erupted laughing. I can't believe she didn't transfer after that, but where you gonna go where that's not gonna happen again? To make it even worse, apparently her middle name started with an E, making "Shamelle E. Butts"
