SheikYerbuti
The Ravens: Beat the stuffing out of a team that (briefly) made the playoffs last year in Week 1. The Eagles: Squeaked by probably the worst team in the NFL in Week 1. The Ravens: Looking like an elite, uptempo offense at full strength except for T-Sizzle, who they certainly didn't miss in Week 1. The Eagles: Will possibly be without Maclin AND DeSean Jackson. Now, I know the game is in Philly, and the Ravens are coming off a 1 day shorter week, but for the Ravens to be GETTING 2.5 seems crazy to me. This looks like the trap bet of the year, and I'm dumb enough to unload on it. Thoughts?
Zooty
You forgot that the Eagles historically have been bad in home openers. Personally I like the Ravens in this game and I'm an Eagles fan

Pip's Invitation
Something like 95% of the Vegas money has come in for the Ravens, and yet the line hasn't moved. Smells fishy to me. I think this is a terrible matchup for the Eagles, even if Vick isn't anywhere near as inept as he was vs. the Browns.

notamomo
How can you not love the Ravens in this game? It's a classic Monday night special (road game after Mon night victory), so there should be money coming in on Philly. But it's not a long trip for the Ravens, they travel pretty well, and Philly looked putrid last week in Cleveland. I agree that it has trap written all over it. But i'm still putting one unit on Baltimore getting 2.5. Call me a sucker....

The Next Generation
The last three visiting teams to defeat the Eagles in their home opener (the last 3 years) have gone on to win the SB. 2011 - Week #3 = NY Giants (29-16) 2010 - Week #1 = GB Packers (27-20) 2009 - Week #2 = NO Saints (48-22) If the Ravens win on Sunday, you may want to place the bet! Although, the last 3 were all NFC teams, so... Edited September 15, 2012 by The Next Generation
Cowboyz1
I just don't get why people think the Eagles are all that good. I mean really, they're WR are average. Maclin very average, Jackson is a Diva and has been uninterested for couple of years now. I can't even name any other ones. Celek is ok but nothing special. Their O line is above average but not great especially now that they lost their left tackle. On defense they have an above average secondary but not great. They're linebackers are just Ok save ryan. The D line is also nothing special. Vick is made of glass and I am not so sure he is all that confidend himself that he can make plays week in and week out. To get taken to task by the Browns screams average for a team so hyped the last two years to contend for a SuperBowl. I just don't get it. Tally
I've been trying to understand this line all week, just couldn't find a reason for the line or a reason not to back Balt. The monday night factor... it was an early Mon game and the drive from Balt to Philly is nothing, not like traveling cross country so that wasn't enough for me to stay away... I put a hundo on BAL ML.
SheikYerbuti
Eagles 23, Ravens 19 That's what I call irrefutable analysis. Well, Maclin and Jackson are both playing, so that tempers it a bit, still. . . Baltimore should only be a 5 point favorite now instead of 8.5. awahl63
Definitely a sucker bet. I'm switching to the Eagles for my confidence pool just because...well just because
Trots
As a Ravens fan, I'm terrified of this game. The Ravens love to lay an egg after a big performance.
delusions of grandeur
As a Ravens fan, I'm terrified of this game. The Ravens love to lay an egg after a big performance. And not saying it's rigged, but how many times have you seen a team's performance one week set up the public for a brutal loss the next. Anyone who's ever bet on Thursday night college football games has to be as skeptical as I am. It really feels like Vegas sets the schedules sometimes. i_am_the_swammi
Eagles are not as bad as they looked in squeeking by the Browns...Vick won't throw another four INTs today. And the Ravens are no where near as good as they looked Monday....that game was 17-13 until a pick-6 let the game get away from the Bengals. Two 10-6 teams, with the home team taking today's contest....23-19 Eagles win AND cover.
gilthorp
The Eagles clearly do not want to win this game.
Grits and Shins
The Iggles are going to have a hard time winning very many games if they continue to turn the ball over at their present rate
Cowboyz1
Wow the Eagles are just begging to be beat today. Three more TO's today. One redzone pick. Vick is not looking at all confident out there. Seems tentative to me. That hit by nada looked like it hurt......

i_am_the_swammi
Wild game. Very surprised Philly won. But for those of us who took the 2.5. . . solid win for the bettors....vegas took that one on the chin. And for us eagles fans, you gotta be thrilled to be 2-0 after having turned the ball over NINE times in two games. Man, if they can get the fumbling taken care of, and one less INT per game....they are gonna be tough to beat.

Agreed, but feel a lot better this week because we were able to pull a win out on a team I consider to be among the best in the NFL.
