thekerrick
What do you guys think in terms of snaps he gets and workload. Im thinking he just takes over. Especially vs the weak D he is facing and the inadequacies of the tri fecta that was the chargers running game. Thoughts?
Shorttynaz
18 carries for 80 yards, 3 catches for 20, 2 scores.. Reports out of San Diego are that he's looking superb in practice..
thekerrick
I hope he does. I got him over DMC. Also i heard he was ready last week so an extra week of practice cant hurt.

BA Baracus
12 carries, 55 yards, 4 catches, 35 yards, 2 injuries In all seriousness, I'm not happy about having to trot him out there because J Chazz is sucking balls... t_Cez theLions
Hey you gotta give him at least 2 games before hes hurt It took one carry to give him a broken collarbone in the preseason, saying he will get 12 carries is being generous you'd think. thekerrick
A collar bone is a rare and luck based injury. It says nothing about his durability. If it was his hammy knee or ankle id be a bit more pessimistic. But hey im starting him so i have to be positive.

faceplant
I'm plugging him in. His short history says he's a pretty good back and SD will hand the ball off. As long as he doesn't limp off the field early, I think 100 total yards and a possible TD is what I'm expecting (and hoping for).
chinatown dragons
Plugging him in as well, over Percy Harvin, for flex option (feel match up is better, and will get the ball 15-20 times). Hopefully, injury is behind him. was offered Alfred Morris for him, straight up, but can't trade for a Shanahan back......ever!
Woodside Warriors
12 carries, 55 yards, 4 catches, 35 yards, 2 injuries 1.2 fantasy points, 55 minutes left to play, 4 broken bones, 35 total yards, 2 fumbles
Grits and Shins
In one league I have no choice so I am rolling with him. In another league I really want to go with him but am struggling to find a spot on my active roster for him ... I suspect I will cut Ogletree to make room for him in the end
Chargerz
The rule on Mathews is play him before he gets hurt because it won't take long.
piratesownninjas
It took one carry to give him a broken collarbone in the preseason, saying he will get 12 carries is being generous you'd think. It was a fluke injury. "Injury prone" guys are more likely to damage muscles and ligaments. It's not as if his bones are weak. It was one of those things that just happens. Norv Turner has said that once Mathews is cleared to play, he'll have a full workload, and unlike a muscle or ligament injury, they have no concern for re-injury. Heck, even in a non-PPR format I think I'd start Harvin over Mathews.

thekerrick
You do know his history right? Ya he has a history of ligament and joint injuries. A collar bone just happens. Romo had one and he hardly ever gets hurt enough to sit out. Now Matthews has one and hes an injury train. Its too random to contribute to his injury history. Or perhaps it's his running style that makes him more prone to injury, and thus more susceptible to a more "random" type of injury like the broken collarbone. Dude is just injury-prone... random or not. I stay away. Far, far away.
WildTurkey
2 carries for 20 yards before Peria Jerry punches his head off like Johnny Cage and we never hear about Ryan Mathews again.

MTSuper7
Any chance Jackie Battle earned enough of a role (goal line) to affect Mathews' value? In short, I think the prudent move is to wait and see if you have a reasonable alternative.
