It will be wonderful to know that when a terrible call is made, or not made, or a rule is misapplied or seemingly made up from thin air, that it is made, not made, misapplied, or made up by true part-time professional employees of the NFL, and not these temporary, scab part-time employees of the NFL.

My favorite ref was the one that called the penalty by saying "he was giving him the business". :lol:

 

I think you're referring to Red Cashion

 

Had to look up the spelling so more info. He als had a ver pronounced "First down" call.

It was Ben Drieth that gave the business call.

 

Right you are

 

I must be remembering Red for his first down calls, but the search I did also showed him doing the giving the business bit. Apparently many refs have used that, including Ron Cherry in college.
