godtomsatan
It will be wonderful to know that when a terrible call is made, or not made, or a rule is misapplied or seemingly made up from thin air, that it is made, not made, misapplied, or made up by true part-time professional employees of the NFL, and not these temporary, scab part-time employees of the NFL.
TimC
My favorite ref was the one that called the penalty by saying "he was giving him the business".
stevegrab
My favorite ref was the one that called the penalty by saying "he was giving him the business". I think you're referring to Red Cashion Had to look up the spelling so more info. He als had a ver pronounced "First down" call. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Cashion http://awfulannouncing.blogspot.com/2007/11/how-many-yards-is-giving-him-business.html
Big John
I think you're referring to Red Cashion It was Ben Drieth that gave the business call.
stevegrab
It was Ben Drieth that gave the business call. Right you are I must be remembering Red for his first down calls, but the search I did also showed him doing the giving the business bit. Apparently many refs have used that, including Ron Cherry in college. And as usual
