The dude's been dominant so far leading one of the best defense's in the NFL. Through 5 games, he has 8.5 sacks (as a friggin 3-4 DE),10.5 TFL and 8 passes knocked down (10 is the record for a season). He's been doing everything for the Texans defense and everyone who watched last nights game saw that. The amazing thing is that this is only his 2nd year and he will probably continue to get even better.

Who's the last defensive player to win MVP?

There was a discussion the other day about MVP and somebody tossed out Harvin, then another post said even Rice in his prime didn't do it.

It will be some QB, or maybe a RB.

Was curious myself and seems to be some different lists based on who is awarding the MVP. But the last non QB/RB to win was a defensive great, LT (86). Redskins kicker Mark Moseley won it a few years before that.

The NFL doesn't award an "official" MVP award, so the AP MVP is usually considered to be the "official" MVP.
