Chief Dick
Unbelievable for Ibanez to hit that home run in the 9th. I'm rooting for the Tigers in this series, but as someone who has to watch Valverde's antics all year, it gave me some pleasure to see that slow stroll to the dugout. Jeter going out is bad news for the Yankees. That and all the extra inning games over the last week. Good win for the Tigers to regain some mojo after the bad 9th inning. ebartender
As a Phils fan it is nice to see a good guy like Ibanez have the success he has had in the post season. Can't stand the Yanees though.
Puddy
Delmon Young apparently has the Yankees number in the postseason. He became the all time leader in postseason HR's (6) for the Tigers yesterday and has been on the team for a year and and two months . As for Valverde, the city has been pretty fed up with him for a while now. Leyland's unwavering loyalty to his players is frustrating. Why leave him in after giving up a two-run homer and then a walk in the 9th? Luckily, Dotel and Smyly pitched very well the rest of the way until the Tigers put together a couple of runs. As for what 40 year-old Ibanez has done the last few games...
