whomper
Considering his ADP I would say he has been a hugh disappointment so far. That is all
Mustangt125
I have Ray Rice, Charles, Murray and Spiller. My friend is 0-5 so I traded him Spiller and Celek for Gronk. Hit him Brady! And then of course Murray gets injured.
She Hate Me
For sure, nothing like the year he was having last season. You can almost put Graham on the list as well: depending on how severe his injury is?? Still quite a few games left though....
detlef
It seemed like a one-year deal for both of those guys to me. Not that they were going to totally fall off (and they haven't), but just not out-class the field like they did last year. This isn't like when Gates and Gonzo broke out and were the only basketball playing, super-athletic TEs. Gronk and Graham were simply used better than any number of other TEs who are every bit as talented as they are. It seemed like one of two things would happen: 1) DCs would figure out how to deal with the position 2) Other OCs would figure out how to use their TE the same way I honestly figured it would be more 2 than 1, but it's not like a ton of TEs are going off. So, it must be more about the first.

bdub1988
My rule in drafting has always been to avoid chasing the big season unless there have been at least 2 such seasons. No Gronk, Cruz, or Lynch for me this year. (Obviously it backfired on me a bit with the second 2, but I'm 5-1 and 4-2 in my two leagues, so I guess it worked out.) It's like what happened with Vick last year though. When one player deals so much damage, other teams game plan to take him away. It seems like how that's playing out most in NE is that teams are finding ways to put more pressure on Brady, so Gronk has to stay back and block a lot more than he did last year. Tripleshot
I think injuries, even nagging ones that allow them to play(in Gronk's case) have as much to do with their (lack of) production as anything.
detlef
Gronk did have 10 td's the year before. Which put him in league with Gates, M Lewis, and Witten, all of whom had more yards and receptions than he did. So, my point(s) remain. The Graham and Gronk thing from last year, where two TEs reached crazy new heights had less to do with some unique talent that those guys have and no other TEs have and more to do with schemes and exploiting matchups. Something that could either be copied by other OCs or fixed by DCs. Not taking anything away from those two, just saying they're simply among an increasingly large batch of very athletic TEs.
