Quizz merely a handcuff?

While admittedly I've had little time to watch tape this season, the numbers and the buzz indicate Jacquizz Rodgers has not taken advantage of an effort to involve him in the offense early in the season, and now touches are decreasing to the point he seems only a handcuff, albeit one of the better ones given the offense.

As his owner in multiple leagues, considering his BYE week fill-in value is questionable at this point, I am now faced with the decision of cutting him in several leagues in place of others more likely to produce in the short term.

Are there any differing opinions out there?

Snelling is a better handcuff for Turner than Quizz is.

He can be great in space or if you had elite run-blocking to give him gaping holes to run through, but as much as I hate to admit it, he actually is too small (or maybe not shifty enough) to be a featured back. It's practically a given that he's going down if there's anyone there to tackle him. He just drops at contact.

I thought I'd dropped him from all 3 of the leagues I'd drafted him in and realized I hadn't in one. Did so this past week for Ballard just in case Ballard ended up being worth a damn.

The one team who snapped Quizz up in the first league I dropped him in has since realized what I already had and has, in turn, since dropped him as well.

Bye week issues had an impact in my decision, but I did finally drop him last week in a 10 team PPR that also scores return yardage. I had drafted him. He cleared waivers and nobody has claimed him.

But in my 14 teamer/23 man rosters I still have him, it also scores PPR (though only 0.5 PPR) and return yardage (I've also held onto D Wilson over there through his worst of times). I've had to use him in 3 weeks, and he's scored single digit points every time. I catch him in games when I can, and he doesn't look to have elite burst, even though he's a fairly little guy.

It's looking like those preseason fantasies of him being the Sproles of 2012 were only just that.

Due to upcoming bye week issues at RB, I cut him yesterday morning in order to re-pickup David Wilson, who I had previously dropped. Despite the early buzz, Jacquizz just hasn't done much to warrant it so far, and Turner has been pretty productive so I don't know why Atlanta would make a switch.

Especially with a 6-0 start...why would you upset the applecart now?

A lot of the comments sound like how I feel about Mark Ingram. Drafted him pretty high to be my RB3/4, and haven't seen him do much yet. Expected to use him or Tate when I had byes or injuries for BGE & McGahee, but neither have done much. Picked up Ballard last week, and had Ingram as a drop in some waiver moves that didn't go through. I'd rather keep Tate than Ingram at this point.

I think part of the Quizz-buzz wasn't just him performing well, but Turner aging. He hasn't shown that he's slowing down yet. Those in dynasty leagues would be wise to hang on for the ride, but re-draft has reached the point in the season where his value isn't roster worthy. I say that while he sits on both my rosters.

i still have him in my 12 team league but all my 10s he is gone this week....i wouldnt mind getting him back on there at some point if a spot opens because i think there are some good scenarios that could give him more touches (turner's dui mess, atlanta clinching a playoff spot early and trying to conserve turner)

He was just dropped in my league to add a K to cover bye.

Will monitor him going forward and consider stashing later in the season. These backup RB who are being aging guys are interesting. Had wanted Richardson (STL) but missed him. There's been talk about him being the starter next year (SJax possibly moving on or becoming a backup).

I think looking at him as a stash is a good call. There are still some ways the Falcons can get the ball in his hands in space, and he's a very good pass-catcher. With how thin runningback is as always, why not take a flier if you got the roster spot and may need his help down the stretch.

But not saying that dropping him is necessarily a bad move either to fill bye weeks. He's undoubtedly a flier at best right now, and as highlighyed above, you're probably looking at a RBBC at best with Snelling if Turner were to go down.
