I am just sick right now. These injuries are the most agonizing I can remember in history. I just can't understand why this crap keeps happening. Murray down, Felix seems to get up limping or hurt after every single play. Now Lee shut down by a toe. Costa out. Dez nicked up. Mo has knee issues. Church out for the season.

This is ridiculous. It's like this whole team is made of glass. Every week it's something new. This past week we lose more players to injury and a new player pops up and finds a way to screw things up. Last week it was Austin who fumbles.

Every single week it's something new. Sean Lee was the glue that kept this defense near the top with his ability to read and react. Carter is coming in to his own but lee is just so quick to the ball. Of all the players to go down the captain of the D and really the guy who quarterbacks the D on the field. I just don't get it. Both critical positions on both sides of the ball are out.

Man I am just sick. Every time we get someone back someone else goes down.

Well it's up to Conner and Carter to hold down the middle now but I suspect we play more of a single LB packages bringing in Jenkins. Conner is not near as fast as Lee nor does he run fit as quickly or diagnose plays like lee did.

The key to stopping Eli is getting pressure as he will be on his spot with 5 to 7 step drops and throws to spots. Our secondary is much improved and I can see forcing multiple picks. Watching the Skins play was telling in that Eli made a lot of mistakes under pressure and our secondary and pass rush is better then Washington's. I don't see us letting Cruz run free down the middle untouched but man is he hard to cover in the slot. Scandrick has his work cut out for him.

With lee I was much more confident in being able to beat the Giants for the second time this year. Without him, I am more concerned about communication issues. I still think we match up well with the Giants due to Eli being immobile but I can envision some blown assignments on shallow crosses and seam routes. Lee was awesome in the middle. Now Carter is going to have to step up and fill a big void. He may just be ready to do so. I sure hope so.

Now I feel the Raven's pain with Ray going down. I hope we don't have a similar emotional let down and communication issues. Man this sucks to see great players go down with injuries. I hate all these injuries it just makes teams change so much.

He was the leading tackler and his absence is as big as losing a corner or Ware. Makes it really, really hard to see how they can step it up now.

I know, it's just so hard to fill in for a player that is so good at his position. It really changes the defense and puts pressure on so many other positions. I really hope Carter is ready to break out in his absence. If he's not, this D is going to suffer.

Bruce Carter was a bonafide stud in college and has virtually no weakness in his game. He only dropped to the 2nd round & DAL because of his knee injury. If he hadn't torn his ACL late in November, 2010 he would have been barely behind Von Miller in the 2011 draft. The ability to turn his game up a couple of notches is certainly there.

ETA - yes, I own him in 2 leagues.

Year after year, we see injuries on other teams like the Steelers and Giants. Their reserves step up and help produce wins. This speaks to the players' and coaches' mettle in the face of adversity. Injuries are an opportunity for players to step up, not an excuse for defeat.

Since the late 90's, Dallas has not shown this resilience. We'll see this Sunday if there are any true winners in the current bunch. I'm not betting on it. The Giants are primed for revenge, and will bring their A-game to Jerry's house this week. If the Boys don't man up, they are going to get blown out the back door of that thing.

:fool:

Eagles lost the whole left side of their OL and their center BEFORE THE SEASON STARTED. You know, the OL, where most people with any knowledge of football say games are won and lost?

And you are bitching about Felix Jones being hobbled?

Gimme a break.

Get a room.

Now the thread titles are exhausting to read.

And yet, exhausted as you were, you managed to find within yourself the strength to post not once, but twice!

Murray, Felix and Dez all have injury histories. This year should be no surprise, just a bummer that they're all hurt/dinged at the same time. Sean Lee's injury is a huge blow, and it's my fault. I remarked to my father-in-law while watching the game what an absolute stud he is, and how quietly he may be the Boys best player on both sides of the ball, perhaps even including DeMarcus Ware. Next thing you know he's hurt.
