Bronco Billy
That Peyton Manning fella's pretty good, isn't he Billy? Playing as well as he is capable, I'd say. FWIW, I've always contended without exception here that P Manning is the best QB ever to play in the NFL. I don't see him being able to take it to another higher level and cover the D's weaknesses (which are there even though NO couldn't expose them last night) like he was able to in IND. That does nothing to diminish how far Manning has come and what he has done. He makes DEN the favorites to win a really weak AFC West. Not sure they have enough to get past the wild card round, and I'm fairly certain that even if they do that the season ends the week after that for them. But hey, the past year and a half have made football a lot more fun to watch in DEN. Edited October 29, 2012 by Bronco Billy
stevegrab
BB, Do you think DEN D is as weak or weaker than IND D during Peyton's time there when they were in the running for a title? (When he was in his prime and carried the team and their bad D.) I think the AFC is a lot weaker than in the past, many of the usual contenders don't look that great including NE, PIT, BAL. So who is that much better than DEN right now, HOU? Not saying that DEN is headed to the SB, just having a heard time picking out who is it that they're certainly going to lose to in the divisional round. Double Agent
Manning was actually throwing spirals last night. He looked like the pre-surgeries Manning.

HOU or NE beats DEN like a rented mule, and one of them will be waiting after the wildcard round. BAL would have too before its injuries on D and the decision to put the O on Flacco's shoulders instead of Rice.

You don't think Peyton would win what would surely be a shootout with Brady and that horrendous secondary? I'd expect the Pats to go with a heavy run game plan to keep the Broncos off the field, but how time time would Peyton need to pass down the field for scores? Not much methinks. He's ribbing me about the ass-whipping his Broncos laid on my Saints. Just a little friendly banter. I wish I could say paybcaks, but they likely won't play each other again for another 4 years. Week 5, DEN @ NE Game was over by halftime. DEN got exposed as a team that can get the ball run down their throats by other quality teams.
