tazinib1
I don't know who that guy is, but thought his tweat was interesting. I've wanted him in San Diego for a very long time now. At some point, Gruden will return to coaching....but where?

DMD
I think there will be a lot of coaching turnover in the offseason and that will open doors for anyone with a resume that includes a Super bowl win

Do Work Son
Andy Reid will be coaching the Chargers next year
slainte
Andy Reid will be coaching the Chargers next year right. and just like d-nab, others will learn things about andy that we've known for years. yet, we were too harsh or didn't know what we were talking about, vilified by the media and outsiders alike. he can be a good game-planner, but don't expect him to make adjustments when they're called for. rajncajn
You want Gruden, but not SP.
slainte
fwiw, i think the chances of payton leaving NO are nil. that said, it certainly is fun to speculate. . . Edited November 8, 2012 by slainte
HowboutthemCowboys
You want Gruden, but not SP. Gruden's not a cheater
stevegrab
Still not sure Gruden will return to coaching. If he does it will be one of the best available options with a lot of control (same or more even for Cowher if he returns). Hopefully Shurmur is out in CLE, and I'd take Reid, Turner or many others that may be looking, but not sure the Browns can bring in a top candidate. rajncajn
Gruden's not a cheater And you'd give a testicle to have that cheater run your team.

RJV
Gruden will b the head coach in Philly.
Jackass
my gut feeling which is probably worth about 2 cents is that Gruden's happy doing what he's doing.
rajncajn
Gruden will b the head coach in Philly. This is what I'm thinking as well. It's a perfect fit IMO, which I also think will shortly spell the end of Vick in Philly. I think Garrett stays in Dallas for at least another year & being completely honest, I can't ever see any really viable coach taking the Dallas job as long as Jones controls the team. Payton stays in New Orleans, period.

Bier Meister
while philly is a better "fit" for gruden, i could see him enjoying the opportunity to beat oakland twice a year.

I might agree, but it's not the same Oakland with Al Davis gone. For some reason I get the feeling San Diego will go for new blood this time. rajncajn
this is obviously the correct answer Could you imagine the reception Dallas would get the next time they had to play New Orleans in the dome?
WildTurkey
I understand the exhilaration of winning super bowls and all that, but do you really think Gruden at this point in his life would leave the millions he makes for "working" one night a week to go back and try to revive a struggling team, for presumably the same or close to the same amount of money as they're making now? Is his coach's ego really that big? Bigger than Cower's or Dungee's, who also _haven't_ made the leap back into the daily, weekly, up until 4am every day reviewing tape and game prep grind? I agree with Kamala above who said Gruden seems happy. Also even though these guys are presumably super-ego maniacs, I still think they have in the back of their mind, what if I fail at the second go around and my legend is tarnished? Vermiel is the only guy I can think of who has ever done this before, and that was different for a variety of reasons. There may be other guys I'm blanking on now. Even more ridiculous in my mind are the SEC school fans who think Gruden might be coming to save Tennessee or even more laughably Auburn.
