delusions of grandeur Posted November 26, 2012 Share Posted November 26, 2012 I believe that Rodgers, McCarthy and several other players have been growing them out for Movember to raise cancer awareness, specifically cancer in men such as prostate and testicular awareness. However, it doesn't do much good when nothing is done for most people to have any clue what you're doing it for. I searched but couldn't find any interview or anything to confirm it was for this cause. As someone who lost a grandfather to prostate cancer because he didn't get it checked early, I plan to take it upon myself to raise more awareness in the future of this cause, but I hope players and celebs can do the same (and thus more because of their exposure), instead of people assuming they just wanted to go for the pron star look. I had it done twice and it took my wife to badger me for weeks, but after all the humiliation of the checkup, I felt good about getting it done. My neighbor went thru prostate cancer treatment Implanting rods). After I heard what that was like, well, prostate checkups are nowhere even close to that. Shouldnt we all wear brown ribbons? ETA: A normal prostate is about the size of a walnut. You think some marketing genius for Diamond Walnuts would parlay that into some NFL sponsorship during the month. <Aaron R holding a walnut to camera> "Mine is this small. Is yours?"
