Tripleshot
This just showed up tonight in EPSN. Both starting Seahawk corners, Browner and Sherman, are facing 4 game suspensions for using a banned substance. Both claim innocence and are appealing. As a Seattle homer, this is news to me. I haven't heard anything about it leading up to EPSN's story. I'll be listening to both Seattle sports talk stations and will pass along any info. I don't ever recall a player getting out of a suspension, so this would certainly be crippling to the Seahawks' playoff push(maybe as crippling as playing down to inferior road teams' level). Marcus Trufant would be one of the replacements. As the nickel corner, he got repeatedly lit up by the ever mercurial, unstoppable Devon Bess, so this could get really, really ugly. stevegrab
Adderall? It seems to be the popular drug of suspension for 2012 (Joe Haden 4 games earlier in the year and at least 2 other players I recall reading about) So many players seem to be taking under a doctor's order but not properly informing the NFL of this, resulting in suspensions. Starcaps proved that you can take an NFL approved substance and still get suspended even though the manufacturer admittedly changed the formula and didn't put the banned ingredient on the label. They may as well just take the punishment, the NFL is never wrong.

I've read reports of players claiming they were taking adderall legally, but they still serve their suspensions. Just because they think they are right doesn't mean they are. They have rules and procedures to follow. If they don't they could be in trouble.

Several players were taking the supplement and all tested positive for bumetanide which is a banned substance. It was later found out by the FDA that the Starcaps manufacturer began adding the ingredient to their formula, but did not list the ingredient on it's label which is required by law. Starcaps was subsequently taken off the market & the players were suspended despite the fact that the NFL had previously approved the supplement and as a result they were unknowingly taking a banned substance.
