League Issue - Score Mixup

It was just discovered that Sportsline is not scoring our Special Teams TD's for Kickoff Returns or Punt Returns. We are however getting the TD's for Int/Fumble Returns. We have always been alloted these TD's in the past, but something got messed up with Sportsline this year since our Commish used the ST spot to put our Draft Picks in so they can be traded on the Sportsline site (We are a dynasty league. Keep 9 and draft 9 each year.)

I know in one league I'm the Commish of we have a D/ST as one entity and the scoring is okay.

Our Commissioner was asked to change the scoring to "retro" the scoring to put these in for all teams this season. He has refused saying that any changes to the the system will reset the schedule, etc. and will not be fair to the league since everyone was at a disadvantage with it.

A few owners have voiced that it is just as unfair to not put these points on for the teams who deserve them. There are also a few teams who drafted the Vikings and Bears among teams just for their return TD's.

What are your thoughts? Should the Commissioner change it now? Should it be left alone until next year? Any feedback would be appreciate, as I'm going to share it with our league.

It sucks, but I think you have to suck it up for the year and fix it for next year.

I've never been a commish on cbs before so I don't know how much truth there is to what he's saying about the schedule change thing, but I still think you just let it alone until next season.

I'm the Commish in a Sportsline League and it won't mess things up as far as I've checked. It may be just let it go, but a few teams would have had some wins if these TD's were allowed. Other teams missed out on Weekly High Score too ($5 per win).

Ideally someone would've caught this mistake much earlier to address it.

Seeing how it's now week 12 - it seems very late to be implementing any fix that will change scores, the results of games, records, and presumably playoff spots/seeding.

Everyone worked under the wrong system from the start of the season. The advantage/disadvantage proved to be pretty slight because no one noticed the mistake.

All teams made trade and waiver wire decisions assuming they knew what their record was. To suddenly hand certain teams phantom losses this late in the game seems unfair. These teams never had a chance to trade more agressively or take other steps to deal with one of these losses.

It's unfortunate for the teams that missed out - but it's a mistake that didn't get caught in time to fix. Teams need to know what their records are so they can make informed decisions. It's the same reason that most leagues have a time limit for when a stat change can be applied.

At this point you have to admit that it was wrong and leave it as is.

Change it next year.

Totally agree.

how the hell does nobody in the league not realize that your not getting special team scores till week 12??? Really???

I was wondering about that too. :what:

Very well put.
