Have you ever witnessed a former contending team shut it down with 5 games left to go? No opinion for or against the Eagles really, just think their falling apart is striking. Guess the problem wasn't the defensive coordinator.... They've got Vick and McCoy essentially cooling their heels after concussion diagnoses. If this team was in a playoff hunt, I think we'd agree they'd both be miraculously better and playing. They cut Babin today. I appreciate the salary cap angle but that defense is putrid and what are they going to do with the in-season cash they save? He couldn't serve as a building block for next year? With the above and Jackson going to IR, they're completely belly up from here on out. If they win another game it'll be a complete miracle. Maybe not motivating his team or being an inspirational leader to a bunch of relatively young guys. Some people think that he has never done that over the years so why should this year be different, but this is the time he has to. A leader does not keep thinking that if he does the same thing over and over, sooner or later the results will be different. That is insanity. I think I am sick of hearing his monotone voice instead of sometimes getting pissed at his players (see frenzal above) Sound passionate, or act passionate for crying out loud. Your job is pretty much at stake. I do laugh at some of the rants by HC over the years, but I absolutely understand where it comes from. I was somewhat placated by his team doing well for years, and now its a total mess with no SuperBowl in sight for probably 4+ years. Some of that is injuries, but like others have said, every team has injuries. I think but getting rid of who they think are not performing is a good thing because the process of deduction is in place to find out if its players, or the coach.
