nelsosi
Missed practice and had an MRI. If you watched the last series of Sunday's game, he clearly got hurt one of the final plays - he was slow to get up, and then limped off the field prior to a 1st and goal play. I noticed it at the time, but little was said about it before today. This is a developing concern for the weekend IMO.

e5volcano
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Roddy White is pretty tough isnt he though? I think a lot of his games have been him battling through some soreness this season Edited December 12, 2012 by e5volcano

delusions of grandeur
AJC now reporting it's minor and he'll return to practice today... And with roddy not missing a game in his career and always playing well after countless "questionable" tags, I'd have no reservations at all starting him. delusions of grandeur
Rings dont lie. http://larrybrownspo...dont-lie/165779 Right, so those Larry Fitzgerald and Calvin Johnson guys are just scrubs because their teams have never won rings Even the author of the article condedes at one point that aside from the rings, he'd rather have Roddy and Julio, before gonig back to this extremely flawed argument that WR talent equates to championships. I think it's even unfair that QBs get so much credit for Superbowl rings, when plenty of them have had strong defenses and/or running games. Brad Johnson and Dilfer are the best examples, but I at least get it that the QB is the most important position. So go ahead and give them credit for a dominant pass rush and a QB who won another ring without them, and I'll look at their numbers, talent and durability. ETA: Hell, if you want to go by that logic, the Giants just barely squeaked into the playoffs last year, and are once again on the verge of losing the division. Since we;re giving them all the credit, can I blame that on their dominant tandem? Edited December 13, 2012 by delusions of grandeur

But I will say Nicks and Cruz do get the last laugh because they do have that ring. I think it was pointless for Roddy to start trash talking in the first place though, don't you think? Nicks is a great receiver but he doesn't come close to White in durability making his consistency next to nil. This year for injury prone Nicks is closer to the norm than the exception; in one of my leagues White no 9, Nicks no 48. Cruz has dropped a lot of balls this year. 2 yrs in a row I have been burned by Nicks' unattained potential. rajncajn
Only question is which one do you want to compare to which? The athletic freak or the top 5 WR over the last half decade, vs. a speedy slot guy and a guy with upside who can't stay healthy? Cruz has better stats than both White & Jones over the past two years since he's been playing & Nicks has better stats than Jones with exception to the injury-plagued season this year of course. And "athletic freaks" don't really mean that they are better players, so say Jerry Rice & David Boston. I'm willing to give it a wash stat-wise, but as Geo just said, rings don't lie. When Roddy shuts his mouth and actually does something of real significance, like say maybe win a playoff game then maybe he can talk. Right, so those Larry Fitzgerald and Calvin Johnson guys are just scrubs because their teams have never won rings. Even the author of the article condedes at one point that aside from the rings, he'd rather have Roddy and Julio, before gonig back to this extremely flawed argument that WR talent equates to championships Ok, so then lets compare stats between Larry Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson & Roddy White. I'm not even gonna look and bet you that White comes up short again. I would concede that I would take Julio over either Cruz or Nicks, but he's not the one running his mouth either. I think it's even unfair that QBs get so much credit for Superbowl rings, when plenty of them have had strong defenses and/or running games. Brad Johnson and Dilfer are the best examples, but I at least get it that the QB is the most important position. So now you're saying Eli should be compared with Brad Johnson or DIlfer? Or are you saying that the Giants WRs are good because of their defense? So go ahead and give them credit for a dominant pass rush and a QB who won another ring without them, and I'll look at their numbers, talent and durability. You keep bringing up this durability issue with Nicks and to be honest, I was really unaware that he'd had durability issues so I went back and checked up on it on wiki. The only mention of any injury throughout his entire receiving career starting in college was an ankle sprain his freshman year and still "set UNC single-season records for receptions and receiving yards by a freshman. Ranked third in the ACC in receiving yards per game and eighth in receptions per game." ETA: Hell, if you want to go by that logic, the Giants just barely squeaked into the playoffs last year, and are once again on the verge of losing the division. Since we;re giving them all the credit, can I blame that on their dominant tandem? Oh dear God... The Giants just barely squeaked into the playoffs last year... AND THEN THOROUGHLY EMBARRASSED THE FALCONS 24-TWO!!! before going on to WIN the Superbowl. Edited December 13, 2012 by rajncajn

This year is closer to the norm than the exception; also Cruz has dropped a lot of balls this year. Cruz has 10 drops to 127 targets, Jones has 7 drops to 106... another wash. Julio does have a better YPR average though.

delusions of grandeur
Rajn, go back and read my response, it was poking holes in his logic, and you're reading way too much into it. I don't know where you think I'm claiming that Roddy is better than Calvin or Fitzgerald (point was that they don't have rings and are considered 2 of the best), I'm not trying to compare Eli to Trent Dilfer (didn't even mention his name, point was that teams don't win championships just because of 1 player, and even moreso with a WR than QB). Finally, I was saying that if you give them credit for the championship, don't you have to give them blame for when they struggle? The rest of it is debateable yes, who you got between Roddy/Julio and Cruz/Nicks. I'll leave it at that, cuz I'm not really in the mood for a gotcha pissing match today. Julio is probably better than all of them, or at least will be. All I'm saying is that he actually needs to accomplish something before he starts opening his mouth.
