dope man
Brees said it best when he said today that Goodell has little to credibility with the players......I feel the same way that he has no credibility with the fans either, worse commissioner in sports!!! Luger
Increases the chance for the hot team to win. This would pretty much guarantee an 8-8 SB winner.

Jolly Rodgers
worse commissioner in sports!!! I think Stern, Bettman, and Seling might have something to say about that. Holy crap, they all suck!
delfamdelfam
Stern is garbage, between vetoing the Chris Paul trade and fining the Spurs cause their coach rested HIS older players to the draft lottery conspiracy its just ridiculous. Bettman is trash since he's had 2 lockouts and missed a whole year. Bud Selig is trash since the All-Star game determines home field in the World Series, like wtf is that. Really they are all trash. I might have to give to it Selig by default though.
dope man
I think Stern, Bettman, and Seling might have something to say about that. Holy crap, they all suck! But even they have a little respect from the players in their leagues, Goodell is on a path to dilute a game that seemingly was deemed as a unstoppable freight train over the last decade. Selly
But even they have a little respect from the players in their leagues, Goodell is on a path to dilute a game that seemingly was deemed as a unstoppable freight train over the last decade. You don't follow hockey much, NFL players have Goodell on a golden pedestal compared to how NHL players feel about Bettman. NHL players wouldn't piss on Bettman if he was on fire, hell they'd come over with extra gasoline.
stethant
Can't speak for the players but as a fan, Goodell lost me with the replacement refs. Mostly it was the NFL's transparent insincerity about players, league integrity, etc. just to "win" in contract negotiations and save a relatively small amount of money. I still can't decide if Goodell is just a mouthpiece for ownership, or if he really believes this stuff. To me, the kickoff business is just smokescreen to give an impression they're doing something about concussion risk. His stupid ideas include, in this order of idiocy: 1. Eliminating kickoffs 2. Expanding playoffs 3. Adding games to regular season IMO, Goodell should be spending nearly every waking moment trying to either mitigate the juggernaut that the concussion issue will become, or find a way out of it altogether. It's the single greatest threat to the NFL by a mile. As to the other commishes, Bettman is the Grand Satan. Selig and Stern are just buffoons - Bettman doesn't really give a damn about anything, especially fans,

Selig and Stern are just buffoons - Bettman doesn't really give a damn about anything, especially fans, When it comes right down to it every commissioner is a mouthpiece or figurehead for the owners. They are put in power by the owners and can be removed by the owners if they don't like how he's doing his job. I think it just provides the owners with a layer of insulation from fan anger when unpopular decisions are made. Just look at most discussions you see people always hate the commish, never hear them saying they hate the owners when the commish does things. As far as this and some of the other ideas most don't like (playing in London, even a team in Europe, expanding playoffs, etc) I'm not sure how serious he is, or how much backing he has from the owners (who need to vote to approve most of these changes). Personally I think expanding the playoffs is a bad idea, as others have said it will just mean more mediocre teams making it and therefore making them less special. Far fewer than half the teams should make the playoffs.
Patriots
I would like to see the playoffs stay the way they are. It will just diliute the regular season. NHL and NBA playoffs are a joke. You have to be pretty bad to not make those. I am on the fence with the 18 game schedule. As a season ticket holder it would be a better buy for me if I could trade two preseason games for two regular season games. But I think football is at a good point and one part of me says why try to fix what isn't broken.
Luger
so your for it then? Since Giants are usually that hot team No, i think the regular season pretty much goes to crap with more teams in the NFL playoffs. i think you would see more players rested, less emphasis on non division games especially when you have a playoff spot locked up.
