marcheese
In my local, I beat my opponent in the semi-finals last week 160.54 - 159.50. He's one of my bigger rivals so it felt good beating him. However, he was hoping for a stat correction to Sam Bradford (My QB2). Scott Wells (the Rams center) was credited with the fumble, while Bradford was not. Here's a link to the video... http://www.nfl.com/videos/st-louis-rams/0ap2000000112648/Vikings-defense-fumble-recovery Now I'm not too sure about how the NFL scores fumbles and who gets charged the fumble, but the ruling was never overturned, and the fumble stayed credited to Wells. If they charged it to Bradford, I would have lost 2 more points and lost the match. Being the whiner that my opponent is, he whined to the commisioner (his father) that this should have been a fumble, so the commissioner decided to take this to a league vote. So far the majority are ruling that it should be Bradford's fumble, and if this stands, the commissioner is going to dock me 2 points and put his son into the finals. Looking at the above video, was it right for the NFL to give the fumble to Wells? I'm not sure if Bradford wasn't expecting the snap yet, because in the video description it says "S. Bradford aborted. S. Wells FUMBLES". I don't agree with my league going against NFL ruling in the first place, but if someone with more football rule knowledge could provide any insight as to why Wells was charged the fumble that would be great! Thanks! tl;dr - Why was Wells charged the fumble in the video and not Bradford?
Big Country
It does not matter why the NFL charged it to Wells and not Bradford, the fact is the fumble was charged to Wells, and it has not been corrected. To overrule the official NFL stats like this is absurd. Does your league review every single play and make their own determination about how a play should have been scored? In short, it is absurd it even got this far, you are being screwed without lube, and regardless of the outcome of this sham of a vote, there is no way that I would be returning to this league.

stethant
Put it to a vote? Absolutely no way for all the reasons stated above. The reason leagues use the NFL stats is because, from the FFL perspective, they're an impartial observer. You guys have some clause where you can vote to overturn specific stat decisions? ETA: The commish's decision to go to a vote is really just a copout/abdication of his responsibility so he doesn't have to make a call one way or the other. Savage Beatings
I agree, that regardless of how it looks in the video, you must go by the official NFL stats. The NFL could have made the correction that your opponent was hoping for, but they obviously chose not to. It should never have been put to a league vote. You won. detlef
Not sure what else to add here. But going against official NFL scoring seems idiotic in a situation like this.
Zooty
agree with everyone else. And I would quit the league as well
marcheese
So it turns out it was all a pretty bad joke. They wanted me to lash out and embarass myself and get into a heated deate, but instead, I didn't respond for a week and I put together a very nice and concise message. The joke backfired on them, so I guess I win in the end haha

irish
This would have to be collusion between the father and son. Post a vote to the league asking if they think the father/commish should be ousted as commish for collusion and even considering the pt correction against the NFL ruling. ETA: Just read the above posts. Post a vote to have the father ousted for pain and suffering on your part.
