gallagorilla
rb's are overrated. i just won my league where i drafted wr-wr-wr-qb. it was a 14 team ppr league. i landed megatron, aj, julio and romo w my first four picks. all season, i juggled mediocre rbs but my wrs were usually enough to get the win. overall, i went 10-4 and just destroyed my opponent in the finals. bottom line, dont draft rbs! DuckDuckGoose
Speak for yourself, I did this combo and went 3-10. I drafted Julio, Victor Cruz & Jordy Nelson with Eli Manning as my QB. Didn't fare so well
Seahawks21
Just won my league drafting RB RB WR TE. It isn't what you draft, it's who. If you hit on most of your picks, your team will be good, if you don't, it won't.

gallagorilla
i planned on drafting at least 2 wr's early but the third sort of fell in my lap. i never would have drafted julio, cruz and nelson 1-2-3. seems pretty risky. were you drunk at your draft? detlef
There's no spot in a 14 team ppr draft that should have enabled you to get all 3 of those Wrs. All three were gone by around pick 20 in all 5 of my leagues. That might have something to do with why it worked ETA: had those names still kept popping up at my turn in a league I'd have done the same Edited December 24, 2012 by detlef

Gourdeau
at the end of the day, luck has a lot to do with whether you win or not. You can draft and have the top scoring team all season, but if they $hit the bed in the playoffs, it's all for not. On the flip side, you can draft a so so team, sneak into the playoffs, and totally dominate if your players start performing all at the same time. Point is, there is no draft "strategy" that gives you a better chance of winning your league.
detlef
While I completely agree with the bit about it mattering more that you nail your picks, I still do find it funnier still that his "system" also seems rather predicated on dudes falling a long way in the draft. So you mean to say that it's a good strategy to load up on guys that should have been taken well before you got them? Good to know Edited December 24, 2012 by detlef
