giantsfan
These guys are SO tough to judge as a Giants fan. You have to love them for winning two SB's in 5 years. You pretty much have to give them a pass for everything else they have done, and will do in their Giants careers. But they have done NOTHING outside of the two SB seasons. Not one playoff win other than those two seasons. This season was a joke. It was comical watching everyone picking them to beat Atlanta. Then watching everyone pick them to beat the Ravens was even funnier. They fell apart and were terrible the past 4 weeks. This offseason they better focus on need areas. We need to improve the OL. We need to improve the LB position (a position which has been lacking for years now). And we need to improve the secondary BIG TIME. As for Eli and Coughlin, I get their standing in Giants history, but they have literally done ZERO outside of two magical runs. Frustrating. Joebirds55
I thought Eli was elite...*crickets*
giantsfan
Eli had a bad season. No one can argue that. When you win 2 SB's and 2 SB MVP's, beating Favre, Rodgers, Romo on the way (all on the road), and then beating the legendary Brady twice in the SB, that goes a long way to saying you are elite. But elite or not...he had a bad season. Can't be argued. I wonder if there is some injury he has played with. He just hasn't been himself this year. Joebirds55
Yeah I was being somewhat sarcastic about the elite comment, since its been argued all year. And I agree he is a good qb and has beaten alot of sure fire hall of famers to get to where he's at. But these last 2 games have been flat out embarrassing for him. I look at Brady trailing by so much at half and then comes out firing simply willing his team back in the game. You don't see that from Eli, at least not this year
DMD
Coughlin was on the hot seat last year and the improbable turnaround at the end certainly saved his job for a year or two more to be sure. In most years, the Giants and Manning fade badly at the end of the year. They did it again. Last year was the aberration.

In most years, the Giants and Manning fade badly at the end of the year. They did it again. Last year was the aberration. That's what makes it a tricky situation with those two. Outside of those two year aberrations they have done literally nothing in their Giant careers. BUT you can't dismiss those two seasons and act like they didn't happen. If it was a one year aberration I'd be on board 100%, and was before last seasons SB run, but after two titles in 5 years you can't look the other way and say it was a fluke or lucky. These guys are tough to truly judge due to this.

Tripleshot
Be glad you got two Super Bowl wins in five years. Fans of almost every other team not named the Patriots would eagerly trade three medicore seasons in five for for Super Bowl wins in the other two.
