stevegrab
So you don't think the difference of 1.5 million dollars isn't a lot. Hey guy, it's 1.5 million dollars. That's good scratch to anyone, no matter how rich. $2 million vs. $3.5 million is a huge differnece, the second is 75% higher, hardly chicken feed no matter how much you make. BeeR
$2M aint chicken feed either. Not saying the diff is nothing, but it's hardly the same for someone like us vs someone like him who's already silly rich. How many Porches and whatevers does one guy need? I really doubt this is about money; it's pride. He thinks he's worth more. IMO if retiring is Bear is soooooooo important as he claims, and esp given he's no stud any more and might not get much more anywhere else, he would have at least given it serious consideration. But he acts like they offered him vet minimum (which aint chicken feed either).
Moss6
Bears sign Urlacher's replacement in Broncos former linebacker DJ Williams. His base salary is $900,000, and none of his contract is guaranteed. He can earn a maximum of $1.75 million if he hits a workout bonus and a series of roster bonuses spread out over time. I love this low risk/high reward signing. In Emery we trust! He appeared in just seven games last season with one start after being suspended nine games by the NFL for two separate incidents. He was suspended the first six games of the 2012 season for violating the league's banned-substances policy after the league said he supplied a "non-human" urine sample during a drug test. tazinib1
Maybe he's not finished in Chicago after all: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000156682/article/chicago-bears-leave-door-ajar-for-brian-urlacher-return I think McCaskey is just saving face here. If they really wanted to, they would have re-signed the face of the franchise by now.
irish
Maybe he's not finished in Chicago after all: http://www.nfl.com/n...urlacher-return From the article: Through the signings of veteran linebackers D.J. Williams andJames Anderson, Emery and Trestman have already played their hand. Even if Urlacher has McCaskey in his corner, he's unlikely to play another down for the Bears. Wolverines Fan
They interviewed him on the local sports talk station. Urlacher sounded at peace with everything. And he said he didn't want to work out anymore.
