Wolverines Fan
Per rotoworld: Sources tell ESPN Cleveland that Trent Richardson (shin) will be out until August, therefore missing the beginning of training camp. The Browns continue to exercise caution with their workhorse back. The right shin injury isn't a huge concern, but it would be if it turned into a stress fracture. By minimizing the pounding on his legs over the next couple months, they'll ensure that he's as close to 100 percent as possible for Week 1. We're not downgrading Richardson on cheatsheets just yet, but the accumulation of nagging injuries is certainly worth monitoring. He's had two knee scopes, two broken ribs, migraines and now this leg issue since turning pro. Montario Hardesty has the edge on Dion Lewis for handcuff purposes. Richardson is off my rb1 radar. DMD
I wouldn't downgrade Richardson three months before the start of the season. He's a great back in a Norv Turner system and has a very good offensive line. Being out until August is mostly meaningless to me.
Savage Beatings
Nice move by the Browns... as long as there are no issues in Training Camp then he stays towards the top of my board.
stethant
So the part of this I don't get is that they're shutting him down for 8 weeks - seems like a long time for a soft tissue injury that doesn't actually exist. I wonder (pure speculation) if he's already got signs of a stress fracture and they're giving the bone, just to be cautious, the usual 6-8 weeks to heal up good. Either way, seems like he'd be fine by August.
DMD
One thing to remember here also is that the entire month of July has no activity. Teams will have OTA's in June but then usually spend three or more weeks not meeting previous to the training camp opening. So those final weeks have all players "shut down". They are only holding him out for June.

Also at this point it is simply a rumor from a reporter, the Browns themselves have not said he was shelved and in fact said otherwise, coach Rob Chudzinski says Richardson will be ready to for mini-camp (end of July) http://www.ohio.com/blogs/cleveland-browns/cleveland-browns-1.270107/browns-minicamp-notes-rob-chudzinski-expects-trent-richardson-to-return-for-start-of-training-camp-1.403299 Maybe that is what the reporter meant by Until August. stevegrab
And today TRich has told us he'll be ready for training campl, really nothing to see here (read that in Huddle News). In other news Tony Romo will probably not participate in Cowboys minicamp according to Chief Jones. Anybody going to panic about that or downgrade him?
