New Keeper League Advice...

Been in a league with my high school friends and this is our 11th year and I want to try something new...I've recently been voted as commish and want to do a 1 person keeper starting next year. I plan on having the league give up whatever round the player was drafted to keep that player. 3 years max to keep the player. My question is, what round do you guys generally give up if an owner wants to keep a player that they grabbed off the FA List? Any info will be greatly appreciated as we've never done this before...Thanks in Advance.

One league I am in uses 12 for FA (descends by 2 for the 3 years kept - First year 12, second 10, third 8)

We do not allow any keepers drafted in the first three rounds which keeps the draft top heavy and interesting.

Thanks for the ideas...do most keeper leagues not allow players drafted in the first couple rounds to be kept?

We have a different type of keeper league. We have 16 teams , and we are giving a option to keep 1 - 2 or 3. This way the last place teams have a chance to dump players. So the first round is for teams that kept 1 and the second round is for teams that kept 1 or 2. The third round starts the regular draft with last place teams starting the draft.
