zeegrl2112
I have never played in a league with IDP before. When do IDP start getting drafted in a standard league? Any advice for a first timer?
PPIchamp
It depends on the number of teams in the league, the scoring setup, overall size of rosters, and # of IDP's you're required to start. The flow of the draft has an effect too, so there's no real set round. Last year in my league with 10 teams and 6 IDP roster spots, it started in the 7th round, though our scoring was above average for IDP's - Solo 2, Asst 1, Sack 5, Int 7, FF 4, FR 3, PD 1.5 Some advice, go after a TOP tier LB's first, DE's second, make the DB's your third priority. LB is typically the highest scoring IDP position, so a top tier LB to anchor your roster is great to have and worthy of a middle round/#1 IDP pick. DE's don't score as well, but good ones are in shorter supply than the top LB's and DB's, so don't wait too long on a DE.

Which is why the top DE's are more valuable than LB's are....LB is much deeper.
osu1322
I'm in a 16 team league with 11 IDP starters. I fully expect to pick up RBs and a QB in the first couple rds but I could see myself drafting a top tier LB as soon as the 4th or 5th rd. i'm currently looking at the lack of players offensive positions have. Even if every team in the NFL had a starting RB, that means every team in my league would have 2 starting RBs. Realistically I know that isn't the case but with every team in the NFL having 3-4 (or more) LB, DB and DL it makes them less valuable. In my league I'm looking for those positions need to be filled and waiting on the ones that have a lot of depth. On a side note is it better to have most of your defensive players before drafting back up offensive players (I'm talking 3rd or 4th WR, or 3rd RB) or in a league as deep as mine should I be target my lottery ticket picks in the mid rds ???
