No secret he is a breakout candidate now with that 2-TD game yesterday.

His 13th round ADP can't hold, so where do you guys value him at now?

I trust him as my TE1 if I needed to and value him right around the 9th round or so.

Yeah, hated to see him do that last night, so much for getting him on the cheap.

Doubt he lasts til the 9th in any 12 teamers, I would guess around 75th-90th or so overall (depending on when you draft, I have a big one this weekend and that's where I'm projecting him).

His first TD was a thing of beauty.

The 2nd was a blown coverage by the Lions and whomever lined up in the slot and ran that route, was going to score.

Loved seeing it though!

loaf,

Yep, the safety bit on Greg Little in motion, and Cameron went right past him. Good play call to clear out that area.

Cameron also caught another pass that was both a good throw (over coverage) and catch (Cam jumped to get it).

Not sure I'd speculate on rounds he'll go in, but one site I looked at (not the huddle) has him as #15 TE, with an ADP (12 man league) of 13.09, and his stock is rising.

I'd be happy to have him as a starter with another decent player, but will probably end up protecting Jason Witten in my keeper league then ignore TE until a late backup.

Now if the Browns can just avoid any more injuries, that game was brutal (Lewis will be the big loss, sounds like his season is done).

He is going to be a nice little bench addition. Gotta love Chud making TEs a main portion of the offense. Couldn't believe they didn't draft a TE this year.

bench? He is starter worthy in 12 team leagues

While it is still "just the pre-season", let's not forget what Norv Turner did was that other basketball-background TE in San Diego.

Add in the fact that the QB is on the greener side and the team's #1 WR is suspended to start the season, and you have yourself what could become a breakout candidate.

E2A: Looks like that "other" TE I referred to had more of a basketball background (played in college) than Cameron. Cameron played in HS and certainly has the frame/skills akin to a developed hoopster.

E2A again: Duh, OK... so Cameron DOES have a solid hoops background (scholarship at BYU, left to pursue football only)

I'm a buyer, but not because of his preseason stats.

He may prove to be that, but the Browns have a bunch of TEs and its likely all of them will get a piece of the pie. Im not ready to hang Cameron out there just yet.

Huh? Kellen Davis? You realize the Gronkowski they have is Dan, not Rob, right?

Cameron has little to no competition.

 and Gronk isn't even on the depth chart I was looking at (3-Barnidge, 4-Smelley)

Watson's in New Orleans

I suspect the Browns will use some 2 TE sets, but saying the Browns have a bunch of TE and they'll all get a piece of the pie is way off base.

I use Rotoworld's depth charts.

They may utilize the 2-TE set, but in that case Cameron would be the one split out wide as the pass-catching TE, not the in-line blocker. While he's made improvements in his blocking capabilities this off-season, he's on the field to catch the rock.

Although he is known mostly as a blocker that Barnridge kid they brought in has caught the eye of the staff. He came over from CAR with Chud and while Cameron is the best one to have, I wouldn't feel right taking him as my starting TE. There is still to much going on in that offense for me to feel safe or confident with that.

So you are concerned about a guy with 18 career catches to the point where you think he threatens Cameron? Sure the guy has above average speed for a TE and an OK pair of hands, but so does Cameron - and Cameorn has the clear opportunity. If Cameron goes down to injury, I'm sure the confidence in Cameron will - and should - disappear, but Cameron is going to be a monster if healthy.

I don't recall seeing Barnidge get targeted much in preseason. In the first game Cameron dropped a pass, and a little later Barnidge was in on a play, the announcer (Kosar) was saying that drop by Cameron cost him the opportunity later in the series. That didn't last long as they were throwing to Cameron later.

I can understand people not being confident in an unproven player, on a new offense that has no real history (new staff, new set of players, etc). Cameron is probably a 8-12 ranking for TE, so if he is your starter you'd want a decent backup. He is not Graham, Witten, or Gonzo where you just plug them in every week.
