Shorttynaz
Does this still make CJ Spiller a RB1 as he's listed as one on many different analyst's projections..

darin3
I don't see how. I'm not touching him till mid second I'd like to see a league where he'd last until the middle of the 2nd. I don't care if they throw a screwdriver in at QB, Spiller is going to put up sick fantasy stats. Ryan Fitzpatrick is/was an average QB (at best) and Spiller was just fine. There are those that think Spiller should be taken 1.01. Yup.

There are those that think Spiller should be taken 1.01. Yup. Fitzpatrick may have been an average QB but Tuel is way, way, below average. He's an undrafted player at the quarterback position. His record in college was 4-22 and his old Washington St. coach can't even believe he's starting. This is abysmal planning at the franchise level. They'll lean on Spiller for sure and he's going to get pounded. The outcome of that is unknown but unlikely to be very positive. The faster EJ comes back the better - and that could definitely improve Spiller's outlook. As for drafts this weekend, I can't imagine a scenario where I take him in the first round. I get what you're saying... but is there really much difference between undrafted and being picked in the 7th round? That's where Fitzpatrick was taken, and I'd surmise mostly because of his crazy Wonderlic scores and halfway decent metrics at the draft combine. That said, Mike Leach is a frickin' moron. I'm not saying Tuel is going to set the world on fire, but how hard is it to hand to Spiller 20 times?

That's an entire universe away from being a rookie, especially one without enough promise to even get drafted. To make matters worse, Buffalo has one whole receiver on the roster with any significant talent and seniority. A couple of nice looking rookies, but again - more rookies. They aren't going to bail him out.

Once Manuel comes back he'll be even more money. Disclaimer: I don't own Spiller in any league. I just think it's silly to devalue him into the 2nd round based on the recent QB news. He'll still be a PPR monster if he stays healthy. E2A: Don't count out Manuel from starting Week 1, either. Joessfl
My best guess is this guy is gonna get hammered. Not if he follows the coach's drills. After that he will measure up, as long as they look at him on the level.
Axe Elf
Spiller is going to put up sick fantasy stats. I prefer healthy fantasy stats from my RB1.
Tripleshot
This is all a clever Bills marketing ploy to take pressure off Manuel after he comes back from his injury. No matter how bumpy his season is they can always say at least he's better than Tuel. This might be the lowest bar any NFL player has measure up to. That, or Lamar Smith having to beat out Daniel Thomas. Edited August 28, 2013 by Tripleshot

MikesVikes
Is this when the coach cries during a presser about how his QB is injured, new kid from the grocery store comes in and goes 300/3 for the first few weeks and carries the team to a Super Bowl victory? Because those things never happen except on tv shows.
MothAudio
Opinions on this situation boosting the value of their TE [Chandler] as the rook dumps off to his backs / TE as he's running for his life.
darin3
As well as 8 in the box Spiller. See below: Opinions on this situation boosting the value of their TE [Chandler] as the rook dumps off to his backs / TE as he's running for his life. I don't think it'd matter if it was Tool, Manuel or even Konkussion that was under center. Spiller, and to some degree the TE, should see a pretty nice uptick in receptions this season. Their WR corps is young (minus Johnson) and has some downfield speed. Should open things up for short passes.
