osu1322
Last week Haden shut down Mike Wallace and this week the target seems to be Torrey Smith. I've seen fantasy experts talking how they would sit Smith due to him being covered by Joe Haden. This goes back to the start your studs idea. If Torrey Smith is your starting WR are you starting him cause you think he is a stud or are you sitting him cause Haden is shutting him down??? Also will this be a continuing trend during the season???
Pistolkid
If I have Torrey Smith this week, I'd consider who else are my options, but if my next best receiver is say, Kenny Britt, I'm starting Smith all the way.
stevegrab
All depends on who the other WR are, and to what degree of STUD factor. Torry Smith is not Calvin or somebody like that, but the Ravens always seem to stick it to the Browns.
MTSuper7
Yeah, we are being way too lenient on how we define a stud. Torrey Smith is a low end WR2 or high end WR3 when he has a neutral matchup. When he faces a shutdown corner and defense, he's not elite enough to over come it. At least not yet - maybe he gets into the discussion at some point this season with your solid WR2 / low end WR1 types. He hasn't earned that yet. Baltimore's passing game is a hot mess right now. gilthorp
Smith is an awful play, no matter how you look at it. Losing their top TE, and a 10+ year vet to be replaced with Dickson and J. Jones....now Jones is out and the other half of the field is a rookie. I stay away from it if you can, or at least until Marlon Brown proves to be a force. flemingd
Torrey Smith and stud in the same sentence
darin3
Torrey Smith and stud in the same sentence This. And while I'm not saying I'm "all in" on Brown, his preseason buzz coupled with a decent Week 1 showing after Jones went out is enough for me to recommend him as a sleeper this week... especially with Haden covering the "stud" Torrey Smith.
