Deandre Hopkins vs Seattle Corners

Seattle doesn't typically allow Sherman to follow particular receivers. Boldin was the first time, and my guess is that is because Browner was out that week. I highly doubt they change their normal defense to account for Deandre Hopkins. As he typically is a Y, he'll spend most of the day getting thrown to the ground by Brandon Browner. Consider this his official introduction to the NFL. Good luck.

I think the 5/50 projection is probably about right. I have started him every week up to this point, but benching him for this one. Which probably means he goes 10/150/2.

He's just not the type of receiver that usually does well against Seattle. A smaller, quicker receiver is the type Seattle struggles with. If he is going to line up across from Browner and try to be physical, it is a battle that will end very badly for Hopkins. He may hit a double-move for a big gain, but a physical player who tends to take the fights at the line of scrimmage personally just plays right into Seattle's hands.

This.

I love me some Hopkins, but he will take some lumps this week. I am also sitting AJ for Gordon in another league.

That's why I'm starting him. (Not really but it sounds good) Edited by keggerz

I'll take one for the team. You can always count on me.

Have there been any exceptions to this? just wondering. I don't see a ton of the seahawks, but every time I've seen that defense they're scary.

A rookie reciever on a team that's been inconsistent offensively and going up against good corners. I could sit here and try to rationalize what I think could happen, but isn't that plenty enough to exercise caution?

You either have better bets or you don't. Good luck.

The only one is Brandon Marshall. He lit them up last year. Cutler decided to throw to him every play and they got hot.

Besides that, the only guys to have any success at all were undersized/slot guys. Welker, Bess, Titus Young of all people, and now Shorts.

The Hawks shut down Calvin, Fitz twice, Dez Bryant, Crabtree, the GB receivers, Steve Smith a few times, Boldin, Julio, Roddy White for the most part, and probably a few others.

Now the kid will probably go off, but I just keep seeing him an Brandon Browner having a game-long wrestling match in my head.

Couldn't have said it better myself...I mean yeah the kid is a freak but if you have a good WR with a better matchup I would go with that player....if Hopkins does well then I start him the rest of the way because he is clearly a stud..

I really believe the kid will do great this week. I'm going against the grain, but I truly believe he will be better then most think.

Heart over head. Sometimes you plug him in and call it a gut feeling. Nine times out of ten you're left wondering if that gut feeling was just gas. And that indigestion gets worse when you compare your gut feeling play's 4-5 points to the 12 sitting on your bench. Now, if you don't have any better options, you just gotta play him regardless. You do know the Seahawks give up a whole 147 yards per game, right? Even if you split that between just AJ and Hopkins, you're getting some 70 yards. And no, JAcksonville didn't help that per game average, they got 214 yards passing.
