Gopher Posted October 14, 2013 Share Posted October 14, 2013 Maybe the NFL should add the yellow/red flags, like soccer, but slightly different. Whine to the refs once, and you get a yellow flag, which means you miss a certain number of plays (or maybe the rest of the quarter). Anything that's far more excessive (removing helmet to yell at the refs, or just throwing a temper tantrum in general), gets the player a red flag, and they're gone for the game (and maybe a suspension). Two yellows = One red Not that it would ever happen, but it's fun to imagine. It would shut up some of these whiny bltches in a hurry, that's for sure. On a side note, the personal foul calls for hitting the QB in the head have gotten out of control, as well. Newton tucked his head yesterday, in an effort to keep the ball from being stripped. In doing so, his helmet hit the defender's arm, causing a penalty to be called against the defense. It seems like I'm seeing more and more of that... Incidental contact, where the defender just happens to get in the way of the QB's helmet, resulting in a penalty.
