Wolverines Fan
Uh oh. From rotoworld: Falcons coach Mike Smith was evasive Monday when asked whether Steven Jackson (hamstring) will resume practicing this week. S-Jax is uncertain to practice let alone play, which suggests he's unlikely to return against the Bucs on Sunday. Look for another split backfield of Jacquizz Rodgers and Jason Snelling, with Quizz as the superior fantasy option. S-Jax's fantasy owners should continue to hold onto him, but have little in the way of expectations. He's got a ton of wear on his 30-year-old tires, and is coming off a significant muscle tear or strain. darin3
I was on this wagon. Thought for sure this dude would be money on this team.... of course, had he not gotten hurt he probably would be ... but ... alas ... he's hurt.

I own him on a team that also has Cobb and Amendola.
wpayers
This figures....In one particular 12 team league my draft went: #1 Calvin #2 SJAX #3 Julio (draft was an RB feeding frenzy early) #4 Cobb #5 Vereen #6 Gronk #7 Gio I thought I had a very solid squad after week 1. But then grabbed Julius Thomas off waivers after his monster debut. Promptly "sold high" on Thomas by packaging him and Gio for Spiller. What a coup! I WAS the man. Doesn't take too long to be humbled in FF.
Scorcher
I have White and Jackson in one league. The only plus is that their bye week was not an issue.

Thought for sure this dude would be money on this team.... of course, had he not gotten hurt he probably would be ... but ... alas ... he's hurt. The upside is, if you have the ability to sit on him, he comes back whenever (week 8-9-10) just when everyone else is getting beaten down by the grind of the season and he's fresh as a daisy. IF he makes it back and is 100%, might be some nice production down the stretch from him.

Delicious_bass
Do you expect him to get younger while he's out? +1 Lot of years and mileage on those tires. He certainly won't heal as fast as he used to and (honestly) I can't see the Falcons rushing any of their injured players back at this point. They won't say it publicly, but you know they know where they're at realistically with a 1-4 record...
Bobby Brown
It's easy to for me to come in here and say "I told you so" after Sjax has been hurt. But even without the injury; the number of 30+ year old RBs with that much mileage on the odometer performing at a decent level are far and few between. Curtis Martin comes to mind.....Marcus Allen...I'm sure there are a few I'm missing.

Wiseman155
I told everyone that this would happen. I'm glad I only drafted him in one league. How can a 30+ year old running back not in a RBBC not get injured.

How can a 30+ year old running back not in a RBBC not get injured. If you were so sure and waiting to say "I told you so", why'd you even draft him in one league? Maybe because, although rare, he would be far from the first to be a bell cow past 30, and his conditioning is better than most guys in their 20's... Sure it was a risk with his history of injuries from overuse, and maybe some overdrafted him because of that, but it wasn't a foregone conclusion that he was gonna pull his hammy and miss a lot of time. And this coming from a "Wiseman". Sure, S-Jax has mileage on him, but had been generally healthy over the past few seasons. Add him to a potent offensive lineup and on paper he should have been pretty darn solid.

No one held a gun to my head, but when I pulled the trigger on him, these were the other RB "ranked" in the general RB2 level. Ridley Murray MJD Lacy In hindsight (which will drive to the loony bin faster than your wife) I'd only probably rather have Lacy. Time will tell. Mr Bad Example
Do you expect him to get younger while he's out? No. But I expect him not to get pummeled 20-ish times a Sunday by angry, 250-300 lb men, which probably makes him feel younger.
Wolverines Fan
From rotoworld: Speaking Thursday, Falcons coach Mike Smith said Steven Jackson's hamstring injury has "lingered." You don't say. Smith also hinted S-Jax isn't close to a return, saying "when the doctors clear (him), he will return to practice." It's deeply discouraging that Jackson remains without a return date coming off the Falcons' bye week. You shouldn't count on seeing Jackson before November. Wolverines Fan
From rotoworld. Falcons coach Mike Smith expects Steven Jackson (hamstring) to resume practicing on Wednesday. It's surprising after Jackson reportedly suffered a setback in Week 7, but the Falcons must have decided they couldn't wait any longer after Jacquizz Rodgers and Jason Snelling offered nothing on the ground against the Bucs. It's possible Jackson will get in a week of limited sessions with an eye toward being full go in Week 9, but the tenor of Smith's announcement suggested he expects Jackson to try for Week 8. Jackson's status will be updated no later than Wednesday. Edited October 21, 2013 by Wolverines Fan
