ROS Rankings

Must have been lost in a cut & paste debacle. Error has been fixed.

As for the Bears, if 4 defensive TDs (most in the NFL), 10 INTs (3rd in NFL) and the constant threat of Devin Hester in the return game don't warrant a high ranking, your defensive scoring must be pretty unique.

Sure it warrants a high ranking but how the heck can they be number 1 when they're giving up so many points game after game (45 against Washington!). Kansas City has clearly been the number 1 defense this year without any shadow of a doubt. KC defense is putting up RB1 numbers this year and have 30+ more points than the 2nd highest scoring defense Seattle. They're like the Jimmy Graham of defenses.

Did you see their performance against Oakland? 10 sacks, 7 points allowed, defensive td, 3 ints, 2 fumble recoveries. And Terrelle Pryor isn't exactly an easy guy to sack

A lot depends on scoring system. Most commonly give points for sacks and turnovers. But some do little for points allowed, while others will have a huge bonus (maybe 10 points) for a shutout. Then add in that some play defense only, others include special teams (hence the point about the threat of Hester).

Still looking at KC in my league (max 4 for a shutout, 0 if give up over 30) KC is #1(89 points), with CHI #5(55), and most of that is due to the higher number of sacks by KC (25) and the rest (about 10) to their much lower points allowed.

People really love to nitpick (cough bitch cough) about stuff 'round here.

As with weekly rankings, projections, whatever it may be... take it with a grain of salt. Recognize that many leagues have different types of scoring.

My guess the RoS rankings are based off a very, very STANDARD type of league. As for defensive scoring, not all give/take away points for points scored against.

Use tools like this as a guide and make your own determinations.

I like ROS rankings as well , that's why I wanted to see where Rodgers would be. Also would like to point out that when asking a question about any of the sigh features the response is very quick.

Sorry I didn't mean for my reply to be directed at everyone responding here... if there's a glaring omission, that is obviously well within reason to post. But the bitchin' n' whinin' about where a certain player (usually THEIR player) is ranked can get ... well ... tedious.

And they typically seem to gravitate right for the number ranking, while not even looking at the explanation.

After looking at the explanation, then one could start a productive thread debating a premise, rather than an unproductive one questioning the site because they fixated on the ranking not the reasoning (which is the only reason I use pay sites, for a second/third/etc. opinion with things I might have missed)

(ETA: like darin said, this isn't directed at this thread, just an observation and suggestion)
