Papa Deuce
I know his O-Line isn't as good as last year, but it seems like Rice isn't able to do ANYTHING on his own anymore... it is like he hit the 30 year old barrier, except that he isn't 30..... I was able to pick him up this year because the guy whose team he was on dropped him...... I swooped in, and have been burned by that choice pretty much ever since. What is the deal with Rice? Tripleshot
Here's the deal with Rice. His line is playing worse than they have in previous years. But the real kicker is that he's just not a focal point of the offense anymore. All the Ravens want to do now is throw the ball deep. They forget that deep throws work much better off play action, but by neglecting their running game, no one bites on play action. So they throw deep, then throw deep some more, like they're the Packers. But they're not and they just don't see it. I am not surprised someone actually dropped him on your league. I'm tempted to do the same in my BoTH league. Someone will blow a chunk of their limited waiver wire funds on him, and then he burns a roster spot for them and not me. If they start him, they'd be more than welcome to the 6 or 7 points he'll get them weekly, or rather, weakly. byroz
I took him with my first pick and steven jackson 2nd. Rice has been killin me. He's had 1 good game this season. If you watch him play its like he doesn't even want to be on the field. He's not explosive at all and he barely gets any passes. He gets stuffed on goal line plays granted its part of the line but still! He gives me headaches because its hard to bench him and now no one wants him.
Scorcher
He was a keeper for me and has been riding the pine the last 2 weeks. I have been playing Woodhead and R Bush over him. Agree with everyone else that no one wants him. I dropped Pierce to pick up Reed because I felt like I wouldn't play Pierce if Rice went down. He was on the same team in our league since he was drafted by the NFL.
darin3
The warning signs were there last year and his prospects were even worse once they let Boldin go and Pitta got hurt.
FatalFact
This is a timely post...Somebody just cut him in my league. I'm debating if I should drop mathews or sproles for a chance on rice...

Look, you can be down on Rice... but dropping him is downright silly. Are you in an 8-team league? Then maybe you cut bait. But in 10+ man leagues, this is insane. I wouldn't drop Sproles for him but perhaps Mathews. Or a backup PK or DEF or even QB if your #1 guy has had his bye.

FatalFact
Yeah I'm gonna drop mathews for him that fool is always quick to disapoint. Although sproles is frustrating as hell to own in non PPR leagues.

Most of the things I have heard are that Rice will be good much later in the season, around playoffs so if you have better right now stash him. My only problem is there if is no production until then how would you trust a guy for your playoffs?

Playoffs makes the season end to early for everyone. We keep everyone in the chase till the end. I cut Mathews for him ... I sitll have Gore, Peterson, Sproles so I can park his but for a while... dougsul
Yes even a disappointing player of his caliber (first round pick) has a few good games, but Rice has just one and that was aided by two tds, his yards still sucked. His long play of the year is just 14 yards. Brees has a longer run which is insane. Hard to cut, even harder to trust him. I draft him, Mathews and D Williams, it is a required three receiver league so i went a little heavier in receivers. I picked up Ivory, Stacey and Ridley. Was 5-0 now 5-2 Thought he was safe play than a lot of the other running backs he rarely gets hurt and catches pass or at least use to. wpayers
Just saying... BAL has the MOST favorable RB Huddle strength of schedule rating for wk9 thru wk16. I am putting on my trading fadora and low-buying shoes to call on some of you naysaying fools! Ray-ray will be fine. He ain't no Chris Johnson.
