They keep you on 2 dots past 5k posts?? Good god thats brutal

LOL ,, I never even noticed that ,,, a lot has changed around here but still my favorite site starting after the NFL draft

between the Super Bowl and NFL draft it get real quite on this site though and those of us in Dynasty leagues we do a lot of trading at that time. Many of us have asked for a dynasty forum here over the years many for that fact but to no avail. So at those time Im on another site

To setup a league forum, send DMD or WW a PM stating the league name, where you want it (BOTH forum or other forum, use Both only if it is of Huddlers) league moderator(s), and password if you want the contents hidden from others.

Yes, I lie awake some nights thinking about it.

Am I the only one who came into the thread wondering if MOBD just now had his first winning team

ETA: Dammit I didn't even realize I hit 5,000. I would have definitely made a self-serving thread that 90% of you couldn't care less about.

I spend all of my days (and most of my nights) thinking about MOBD's greatest FF teams.

LMAO because most likely the ones of you talking haven't even been playing long enough to know who Testaverde , Domanick Davis & Jimmy Smith are ,, sure enough never had them on a team that won it all ,

Heh - for the record Vinnie Testaverde is just 2-1/2 months older than me, and I am old enough to be at least the older brother (if not the uncle) of Jimmy Smith and Domanick Davis (now known as Domanick Williams).

I still remember my first draft , no such thing as dynasty leagues back then ,, no such thing as personal computers or cell phones either , but anyways the thing I recall the most was Bad Moon Rison was drafted 3 times , twice by the same team and once by another and we never caught it until after the draft was complete  by then we were so frigging drunk and two of the owners had passed but we did the whole draft over again with two teams having Danny White as their QB ,,, had to wait until the next weekend to redraft

Pretty funny. Curious what year was that (PCs have been around quite a while, think I had my first in 88, and knew others that had them in the earl 80s).

I do recall doing the league scoring (TDs only no yardage) by hand using the paper each while watching MNF.

I believe it was 85/86 we had two owners per team ( a couple teams had 3 owners ) 10 teams so 2 dozen drunks trying to draft and you were lucky if the owner could agree on a player , no way you could run it with only one owner because we were one of the first to be a ppr plus if you drafted a WR that returned kicks and they scored a TD you got those points , you not only had to keep your own score you had to keep all other owners score just to keep them honest so that was to much for one owner. The buy in was $100 per team , no H2H just total points , most points at the end of the year was the winner. Oh & the winner also got a the trophy that was passed around to the winner that year , league lasted 6 years

My first fantasy league was in the fall of 1988. We drafted in a buddy's living room (I was in 8th grade at the time)... Either 8 or 10 teams (can't remember). No internet, and my parents were pretty much anti-cable TV, so I was lucky if I got to see a game or two on Sunday. I just remember it being pretty suspenseful, waiting until Monday morning to see how my players had done. No yardage, no PPR... Just TD's, field goals, and XP's, basically. We would look in the newspaper (USA Today, usually), on Monday mornings before class, to see the boxscores.

For waivers, we would either tell the "commish" in passing (usually in the hallway, in between classes or after school), or call him at home. Same thing with starting lineups... You had to call the commish, or your opponent, if I remember correctly (which is questionable, to be honest).

Man... Life was pretty simple back then.

Wow you just brought back memories , now that I think of it the only waiver we ran was after game 8

So after 8 games were played starting with the bottom team you had first choice of FA's no trading allowed

No waivers before game 8 or after game 9 so you played with the players you drafted , also no such thing as a bye week !

My first draft was in 1993, and the league was painstakingly calculated by our commissioner using Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheets. When the concept was explained to me, I remember having an intense curiosity. In retrospect, this must be what it is like when a heroin dealer casually tells a novice what good times await when going for a ride on the horse.
