Wolverines Fan
http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/wireStory/chiefs-broncos-nov-17-moves-sunday-night-20759648 The Chiefs-Broncos game in Week 11 is moving to prime time. The NFL said Friday that Kansas City's matchup with Denver on Nov. 17 would be on NBC's "Sunday Night Football." The Green Bay Packers and New York Giants were originally in that slot, but were moved to 4:25 p.m. EST on Fox. Also, the Chargers-Dolphins game was moved to 4:05 p.m. on CBS. Starting in Week 11, the league's flexible scheduling policy allows it to move a more appealing game to Sunday night. "We had originally protected the Kansas City-Denver game for Week 11," CBS Sports said in a statement. "After discussions with the NFL we made a one-time accommodation so that the game can be seen by a national audience, which we could not provide during our regionalized singleheader weekend." The Chiefs, 8-0 and the NFL's last unbeaten team, visit Buffalo this week. The Broncos (7-1) are off.
stevegrab
Very unprecedented move. I'm on a forum for sports broadcasting where SNF flexing and protected games are regularly discussed. it is assumed that once a team protects a game it doesn't even have a chance of being flexed for SNF. The NFL (and possibly NBC) must have put on some pressure or offered incentives to get CBS to give up this game. Just started reading a thread there on flex scheduling and there are 4 pages since Friday, starting with somebody speculating that the NFL was in talks with CBS to get this done. The person posting this initially had posted some scoops in the past without siting a source. There are some people on there with insider knowledge on NFL broadcasting, TV stations, etc.
