Low-cost sleepers for 2014/15 season (keeper leagues)

I guess this pertains mainly to auction keeper leagues, but I'm looking at guys who are often available to be snagged and stashed as potential 2014/15 bargains.

I'm thinking guys like: Rueben Randle, who's likely heading into next year as their #2 wideout. Tim Wright too, possibly, if he keeps it up.

Any other ideas? Michael Floyd is another that comes to mind.

Mike Brown, WR for the Jags.

By no means is he the physical beast that Justin Blackmon is, but from what we know about the guy, he doesn't have the personal demons that Blackmon has.

If/when Blackmon screws up again, Brown will be the #2 WR on a team that will be throwing from behind almost every game.

Christine Michael/Robert Turbin. Rumors are that Lynch may be out as soon as this offseason, and most certainly after next season. The Seahawks are going to have to come up with about 50 million/year if they want to keep Wilson/Sherman/Thomas, and some pieces will have to go. For this reason, Golden Tate could find himself in a much more prominent offense next season as well, and may be a guy to make a play for.

This is why I drafted Michael and have held him all year. I believe Lynch is gone unless he takes a hometown discount deal. There are plenty of teams out there that would love to overpay Lynch. While I like Turbin, I think Michael is the better of the two and most likely to get first shot of the starting job if Lynch goes.

If I am in a keeper league I am not going to waste those picks on sleepers or potential bargains. I will make those keeper picks as close to sure things as I can.

Well, it all depends on league context. As I mentioned, this is really only applicable to auction keeper leagues with $ values. I'm referring to guys who can be had for a few bucks at this point, but could go into 2014/15 with mid-level value or better.

With James Jones and Jermichael Finley as FAs next season, might not be a bad time to take flyers on Jarrett Boykin and Andrew Quarles. Those two may even help you THIS season if you get them; even if they aren't on the WW, with Rodgers out, they can possibly be gotten on the cheap.

Not sure if people realize how well Mike Glennon is playing. Job is his to lose right now, and Schiano doesn't look long for the world so maybe TB will get a real HC in there.

Which could play against Glennon...and I don't think it's a maybe...imo, he's a dead coach walking.

Quarless is a blocking TE at best. Not sure why he has such a rapport with Wallace. Maybe it's the short route options the coaching has Quarless running as more of a plodding blocker and Wallace's inability to really run the offense. I'd be shocked if he had solid fantasy value past the next few weeks.

Not sure how "cheap" Randle is going to be. Nicks is all but gone and Randle's outplayed him already this season and will easily be the Giants' #2 in 2014 and beyond... a spot that's already yielded plenty of fantasy love.

Glennon will take a step back with a coaching change in TB. They're just letting him air it out with nothing to lose, really. That said, he does have the key ingredients to being a solid but unspectacular fantasy QB: a big, fast, athletic WR (Jackson), solid athletic TE (Wright - or so it seems) and the excellent pass-catching back (Martin). I'd be fine with Glennon as a matchup-based fantasy QB in 2014 and beyond.

I absolutely love Christine Michael. Dude is a beast. If Lynch is sent packing, Michael is a top-10 fantasy RB, if not better, right from the outset.

Michael Floyd has the measurables but I don't know if he'll reach his potential with Fitz around and who-knows at QB.

Cordarrelle Patterson is going to need at least another year if not more being coached up at the NFL level. He was too "all over the place" in college and was drafted 100% based on long-term potential in MIN. There's a reason he rarely sees the field on offense. He obviously has issues with learning the playbook, routes, pretty much anything tied to the NFL game. But yeah, if you can get him on the cheap if the owner that drafted him wants to cut bait, go for it.
