BA Baracus
Speed and Josh Gordon don't mix. http://fox4kc.com/2013/11/12/chiefs-wide-receiver-dwayne-bowe-arrested-for-speeding-possession/ Man, I was just thinking over trying to acquire him on the cheap. Speculating that the Cheifs know that they need a little more octane on offense and maybe worked on some things during the bye, along with his ease of schedule vs WR. stevegrab
Duh, I'm a brain dead athlete making millions, I think I'll smoke some Josh Gordon then drive my car fast. (48 in a 35 isn't crazy, but fast enough for a ticket in most places). Because you know I have no other options like a personal driver or taxi. Or just leaving my Josh Gordon at home and partying there. Besides I'd lose my street cred if I wasn't being so hip and cool driving around with my homies getting high. Not to mention pot is a banned substance by the NFL that could get him in trouble during random drug tests.
rattsass
Yeah, hey Dwayne don't drive or play football while stoned. Neither is working out well for you.
byroz
So that's why he's beem.useless this year..it all makes sense now. He's going the ricky williams route. Good for him.
Big Talker
According to the linked article from the KC Star, Bowe was suspended for 4 games in 2009 for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs. If I understand NFL rules, this means his next suspension will be for 8 games. Only thing I'm not clear about is whether he's likely to be suspended immediately or if they'll wait until after his court hearing on Dec. 18. After seeing what happened to Justin Blackmon a few weeks ago, I'm guessing it will be immediate. The timing couldn't be more horrible for the Chiefs. historymike
Moving forward, I guess this makes Dwayne Bowe a possession receiver. Ba-da-boom.

Anthrax1
Was anyone even starting Bowe and if so, why? Are you a 24-man league?
whomper
I was going to start him this week. I figure Denver always puts up points so KC will be throwing a lot and Bowe will probably have a decent day

I start him over Heath Miller based on matchups in a 14 man league sometimes on bye weeks.

Chief Dick
I'm going to be blunt about this. Bowe wasn't in the joint very long. He was the token arrest because he is Dwayne Bowe. Now, you can bag on him all you want, but there is a good chance he has a good game at Mile High because he will probably see a lot of dime defense and really light up the Broncos. Is he a dope? Yep. But he can really spark up the offense this week, and be the receiver that lies in the weeds.

stevegrab
He wasn't under the influence, just in possession. Correction, he was charged with possession, didn't say one way or the other if he was under the influence. Do you really think they were not smoking some, that's probably why the car had such a strong odor. Maybe they were just carrying it for a friend and none of them even smoke pot. Either way he's dumb for doing what he did, whether you agree with the law or not, he's got a ton to lose and didn't think it through. He can get in trouble with the league just for smoking it if it turns up in his drug test.
