Stat corrections reverse both our playoff game winners.

Both our round 1 games were very close. I was up .5 over my opponent and in the other game it was a 1.5 point difference. I went to our ESPN league site this morning wondering if Foles could hang with Peyton this week as I was going against the #1 seed. Looked at the matchup and saw it had changed and I was playing the other "winner" from last week in a consolation bracket. I lost 1 point and the other guy lost 1.5 and lost the tiebreaker (bench points). What a kick in the sack. I think that last play at Pittsburg must have gotten me because Leveon Bell was where I lost my point. Did all the rest of you Bell owners lose some receiving yards last night? Any chance the stats change again before Sunday? Do they really know what the stats are on that last play?

Thanks Big John. THat explains where the other guy lost his 1.5 points. He had the Steelers D and lost a sack. Still don't know where Bells 9 yards went. Below is the play by play from ESPN's gametracker.

1st and 10 at PIT 20 Ben Roethlisberger pass complete to Le'Veon Bell for 5 yards to the PITTSBURGH 25, tackled by Randy Starks.

3rd and 6 at MIA 20 Ben Roethlisberger pass complete to Le'Veon Bell for 9 yards to the MIAMI 11, tackled by Reshad Jones for a 1ST down.

1st and 20 at PIT 28 Ben Roethlisberger pass complete to Le'Veon Bell for 10 yards to the PITTSBURGH 38, tackled by Philip Wheeler and Chris Clemons. 1st and 10 at PIT 29 Ben Roethlisberger pass complete to Le'Veon Bell for 4 yards to the PITTSBURGH 33, tackled by Reshad Jones. 3rd and 16 at PIT 14 Ben Roethlisberger pass complete to Le'Veon Bell for a loss of 3 yards, lateral to Emmanuel Sanders for 15 yards, to the PITTSBURGH 26, tackled by Philip Wheeler and Dannell Ellerbe.

Adds up to 28-3=25 But they have him listed for 19 yards receiving under the stats also. I guess the bottom line is that "It is what it is" and certainly will congratulate the other team and move on. Just a tough way to end the season. Also didn't know it was possible for a player to lose 3yds on a reception that he then laterals that gaines positive (15) yards.

Whatever it is today is what it is. Elias reviews all plays across the entire league and corrects the scoring and issues their results on Thursday. There are no further corrections after that.

That's a bummer dude. I have lost playoff games like this before. I feel your pain. It would be much better if your opponent had just kicked your ass rather than getting the tease and yank.

The players get credit for what they do on that play. In this case, Bell lost 3 yards on the catch, but lateralled to Sanders - scored as -3 yards receiving for Bell and plus 15 for Sanders and 12 yards passing for Roth.

Ok... so our top team lost their playoff game to the 8th best team by .03pts until this came out. I know the 8th place team had Bell in their lineup. Any other changes happen and when do the results usually come out?

This is going to be complicated to explain to the league. Jeeezzz

The same thing happened to me. I was in the semis. I tied a guy, but my overall record had me moving on. Then they corrected the final play of the game. So I learned that laterals count as lost yardage regardless if it's a positive or negative net play. The last play was a lateral from Sanders to Cotchery to Bell to Roethlisberger... Thing is Cotchery passed it from the 41 to Bell and Bell passed it from the 34, which is a loss of seven yards, which would in turn give him 21 yards, thus winning me and you the week. There's a $1000 first place prize in my league so I couldn't let it go. I called Elias at 212-869-1530 and asked them to explain ang hopefully overturn it. I was cool about it. They were not. Pretty rude group working over there. But whatever. Fact is, they told me they would review it again tomorrow, because the "guy" who reviewed it left for the day. ESPN told me to start my team as if I was still in it, because they can (and have) changed stats twice in a week. They told me to start my team as if I were playing the matchup, and if they make the correction, ESPN will set me back up in the semifinal. I asked them if they've had alot of calls about this today. The guy laughed and said that that's all they've had calls about haha. Well good luck to you and while I'm at it I'll do the same for me.

Wow, you really thought you could get them to overturn it. What was your justifcation, that it cost you big money in fantasy football?

If I were them I wouldn't even take or respond to calls like this.

Maybe but I actually did hold back. I mean but what did he really expect Elias to do. Would you do that?

Could you see others here at the Huddle doing it? BB, BJ, BC, darin, DMD, keg, Irish, Taz?

He was cool about it, but they were not. They were downright rude. Imagine that, they don't want to explain themselves to some fan.

Sorry, maybe I just need a beer or 6.

Why not? If they got it wrong, what's wrong with someone pointing it out?

Yes he can. It's all about net yards. If the initial pass went for 20 yards, was lateraled to Bell and bell pitched it back 10 yards without running, and the player that got it ran it 40 yards for a TD, Bell would get -10 yards.

Also, I'm pretty sure you are using a cut and paste from the gamebook. If that's the case the gamebook wouldn't match because the stat change impacted that last play. I tried to pull the play up on GameRewind but I couldn't get it to log on...once I do I'll look at it again and see where Bell gets the ball and where he pitches it.

Thanks B. A. Coming from a Broncos fan, that really means something. Thanks to everyone for helping me understand this to get it staight in my own mind as well as explain it to the league. (I'm the Comish) I'm much better today. (sigh) On the lighter side, the other player who's "win" got reversed called me yesterday asking wtf. Misery loves company and he knows I sure as hell didn't change anything to knock myself out as well. The other 2 guys who ended up winning are both out of town, and knowing them, I bet neither one has checked and realised that they are still in the playoffs. Bizzare end of a season this year.

What makes the OP (or you) think they got it wrong? For the OP it seems to be "because I lost my fantasy game".

He wants an explanation and hopes they'll overturn it. Does that sound reasonable to you?

Like others said, I'm surprised they took his call. I imagine with FF they get plenty of calls like this and are tired of them.

He probably is wrong; however, I think the importance of getting stats right is helped by the fantasy community; otherwise, not too many people would care.
