Possible heavy thunderstorms in Carolina.. When does weather significantly impact QB performance?

Saints vs Panthers game - weather calls for possible heavy T-storms. Heavy winds are the no brainer killer for passing. Where do heavy thunderstorms land on the QB-passing game impact spectrum?

As a guy who lost a championship shot to the Brady Blizzard vs the Jets years ago - I do not want to lose an actual championship to a washout in Carolina.

I have my own...but am looking for your thoughts on the impact of heavy thunderstorms with or without winds on passing games.

A heavy, driving rain will make all aspects of passing more difficult, IMO. How difficult? Tough to say without knowing just how bad the conditions are on the field at gametime...

I have been burned by both ends of the weather conundrum. I have watched my players struggle mightily against wind and rain/snow. I have also benched players on fear of the conditions only to see them do just fine. It can be so situational that its very tough to say what the impact will be with any degree of certainty.

NFL.com has a nice little article on games potentially affected by inclement weather.

Week 16 probably won't be the widespread glorious winter wonderland it was a few weeks back, but it looks like weather could play a big factor in many of Sunday's crucial games.

Indianapolis Colts at Kansas City Chiefs: A winter storm warning has been issued in Kansas City for Saturday night into Sunday morning. It will involve rain, sleet and snow. There is a chance of snow and precipitation throughout Sunday, according to Weather Underground. Defenses haven't been able to stop Alex Smith and the Chiefs' offense yet. Maybe the weather can.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Green Bay Packers: Snow is expected in Green Bay during Sunday's game. The temperature will dip below 20 degrees. Wheeeeeee.

Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills: There is an 80 percent chance of rain in Buffalo throughout the game, but it won't be cold enough for snow.

New Orleans Saints at Carolina Panthers: There is a chance for a thunderstorm during this game, and a 75 percent chance for rain. Muddy conditions seemingly would favor the run-heavy Panthers.

New England Patriots at Baltimore Ravens: There is a 65 percent chance of rain in Baltimore along with 10 mph winds expected. The temperature oddly will be around 70 degrees. The same conditions are expected 40 miles south in Washington for the Cowboys-Redskins game.

Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks: Rain is not nearly as much fun to watch on TV as snow is. And it's going to be a rainy weekend. There is a 60 percent chance of rain for this key NFC West matchup.
