stevegrab
Let him be. He's making excuses for losing before the game even starts. Typical Seahag fan. Well at least hasn't said something stupid like "The Broncos basically have no chance of winning."

Bobby Brown
If we take a look at the season overall, though, we find that the Hawks held teams to 65.5% of their usual offensive output: (Team --- v. Seattle --- v. others -- difference) Panthers: ----- 7 --------- 23.9 ----- 29% 49ers (x3): --- 13 avg. --- 26.9 --- 48% Jaguars: ------ 17 ---------15.3 ---- 111% Texans: ------ 20 -------- 17.1 ----- 117% Colts: --------- 34 --------- 23.8 ---- 143% Titans: -------- 13 --------- 23.3 ---- 56% Cards (x2): --- 19.5 av. --- 24.3 -- 80% Rams (x2): --- 9 avg. ----- 23.6 --- 38% Bucs: --------- 24 -------- 17.6 ----- 136% Falcons: ----- 10 --------- 22.9 ----- 44% Vikings: ----- 20 --------- 24.7 ----- 81% Saints (x2): -- 11 avg. ---- 27.1 -- 41% Giants: ------- 0 ---------- 19.6 ----- 0%

stevegrab
I read somewhere recently that the #1 defense is 7-0 in the SB Did those teams ever face the #1 offense? And how has the #1 offense done in SB? Broncos are 2-4 in SB, Seahawks 0-1, neither team will be above .500 in SB after this year. Useless stats, there are so many. keggerz
http://online.wsj.co...332872193997670 "The Broncos scored 38.9 points per game against defenses that otherwise allowed 23 per game, a 69% improvement. Seattle allowed 14.4 points against offenses that other defenses allowed to score 22.8 points per game, or 36.8% fewer points." You realize that your stat is basically the same as the one in the article that i quoted, don't you? Basically is because the article quotes 36.8% and your number of 65.5 translates to 34.5%...I haven't done the math so I don't know who is right, but you are saying the exact same thing. 65.5= D allowed teams to score 65.5% of their avg. 34.5= D held teams to 34.5% less than their avg. See, same thing, just said two different ways.
Captain Howdy
Three and a half quarters with Brock Osweiler as QB results in a 13 to 10 Seattle win...
Bobby Brown
You realize that your stat is basically the same \ Putting that stat in a different perspecitve on its own merit was kind of the point. Again, given a defense can't hold a team to negative 1 (let alone negative infinity) and shut outs happen way less than scoring 40+ ppg, the previous comparison was by no means apples to apples. The comparison fallaciously insinuated that Denver's offense is substantially more effective against opponents than Seattle's defense is. NAUgrad
If you look at all of the teams Seattle has faced this year, do any of them have remotely the offense Denver does? Or do any of the defenses Denver has faced this year have remotely as effective a defense as Seattle?

darin3
Long-term forecast calls for temperatures in the mid-30's on gameday. Of course, the kickoff is scheduled later in the day, after the sun is down so the temperatures could drop in a jiffy.

Seahawks21
You know what, the more I think about it, don't you have to conclude that Denver really doesn't stand much of a chance? The matchup is just brutal for Denver. A team that passes exclusively, up against the greatest secondary in the history of the game? Things could not possibly line up any worse for Denver.
